"Look, I don't want to sound rude or anything, and I'm actually having a really good time — like you're really nice, and funny and —" Felicity Smoak started saying as she put down her —now empty— cup of coffee.

"Are you breaking up with me?" Cassandra Winter jokingly raised her eyebrow, stopping Felicity's rambling and managing to steal a chuckle from the woman.

"I was just wondering the reason of this...date" the blonde nervously shrugged. Cassandra had swing by Queen Consolidated earlier looking for her, and offered to get some coffee together.

"I didn't know I need a reason to hang out with a friend" the Winter woman replied, bringing one of the donuts they had ordered to her mouth.

"Friends" she repeated the word with skepticism; they barely knew each other, friends wasn't a word that Felicity would've used "Is that what we are?"

"Well, you helped me the other day, that makes you my best friend" Cassie teasingly smiled.

"So this is just a casual hang out?" Smoak questioned again, adjusting her glasses "The evening is not gonna end with you asking me to break into someone's computer again?"

"Just a casual hang out" she slightly laughed at Felicity's amusing tone. She really liked her "Also, take it as a thank you for helping me out with the computer thing"

Before the blonde could answer, her phone started to ring, picking it up as Cassandra distractingly kept eating.

"Yeah, I'll be right there" she heard Felicity say, and the worry in her voice made the Winter woman frown.

"Everything alright?" she wondered, as she saw Felicity Smoak gather her things.

"I think I'm about to get fired" she bluntly said, Cassie's eyes going wide "My boss just told me to go to his office"

"Felicity—" she tried to say something, but the woman's rambling cut her.

"Which makes no sense, I'm their best employee. They are not gonna find anyone as good as me" she kept talking, the speed of her speech increasing by every word. Cassandra got up from her sit, taking the girl by the shoulders, stopping her rambling.

"You are their best employee" she assured her "He's not gonna fire you. And if he does, I'm gonna write an article about how great you are; so he will have no choice but to hire you back because of social pressure" she added jokingly, trying to calm Felicity down, which seemed to work.

Felicity Smoak took a deep breath and nodded, thanking the girl. Cassandra offered to pay, and in any other situation Felicity would've protested, but she didn't say anything and was quick to leave to her boss office.
