"Are you sure you won't stay brother." My sweet sister, with her innocent apple green eyes, asked. A sad frown tugging her pale pink lips downward. Making me flinch with guilt. Not enough to consider staying though. Sighing. I placed my hand on her shoulder. Offering her a sad smile. My choclate browns filled with love.

"Sorry Sally, but I gotta go and find my own way. I can feel theres something out there for me. Something that is calling me forward. I don't know what it is, but I know its out there." I anwser. Earning a confused frown.

"Is this about that wierd birthmark on your wrist?" She asked. Her eyes straying to the merlin bird etched into my skin. In its beak was a bracelet with six gems. It wasn't till recently that the mark began to change. At first when i was young. It was this plain off colored mark on my skin. Recently though its begun to change. The once colorless bird is now a very faint gray. The chain of the bracelet is also a very faint gold color.

The only thing that hasn't changed is the gems. All but one of them are still colorless. The single gem with color. Has gone from colorless to a bright emerald. Yet when I tried to show my family. They claimed it looked the same. My sister and mother couldn't see the new colors. Only me. I am unsure what it means. The only thing I do know is. I won't find it here.

"Partly, but its not the only reason. I just feel this is something I must do to truly find myself. Ever since the king denied our pleas for help. I've felt like a part of me has been ripped away. This is my chance to maybe be able to get it back. To truly discover my purpose." I agreed staring down at the mark. A feeling of deep longing filling my heart the longer i stared at the bird.

I startled at the feel of small arms wrapping around my waist. A full head of brown curls pressing beneath my chins. Realizing its just my sister. I softly wrapped my own arms around her back. Holding her close.

"Just please be careful. I fear what the king would do if he realized a nobels son willingly left the kingdom on his coming of age. Instead of swearing loyalty to him." She pleaded. Planting a kiss on the top of her head. I gave her one last squeeze. Before pulling away.

"I'll be careful. I doubt that old bat will even notice. Let alone remember." I snorted. Heading for the door. Pausing in the doorway. I glanced one last time at my 15 year old sister before heading out to find my destiny. First stop of course will be thenearest bar. Gotta get me a drink.

Taking a giant swig of my beer. I glanced lazyly around me at all the cute ladies around me. Smirking a cute red head giving me a considering eye. Winking and taking another big swig of my beer. I am about to get up and head her way. When the door opens and she appears.

A beautiful black haired beauty with blue bell eyes and soft pouty lips. None of that compares though to the moment her eyes meet mine. A sharp flare of pain on my wrist brings my attention to the birthmark there. Where another gem has gained color. A blue sapphire and some how I know. That gem is mine. The bird itself is looking darker then last time too.

Shifting my eyes back to the girl. I frown to realize she is no longer there. Searching wildly around for her midnight hair. I sigh in relief when i spot her at the bar. Frowning at the blond pounce beside her. I scowled in disdain at him. I could already tell i will not like him. As for the fair maiden. Who ever she is I know just by the mark on my wrist. My destiny intertwines with hers.
