Chapter 24

Mingyu was stirred from his sleep, due to whispering sounds he heard. He regained consciousness, as gently open his eyes but soon squinted them due to the blinding lights from the ceiling.

"Mingyu! Gising ka na?" Jaebum stood up from his seat.

"Gyu!!! Kamusta ka na?" Minki asked, worriedly.

"May sakit ba sa'yo?" Minhyuk interrogated, frantic. He lifted Mingyu's right arm which made Wheein pull him away.

"Huy! Sira ulo ka talaga! Nakita mong kakagising lang eh." Wheein scolded.

"Braderrr!!!" Yeri said, she had unshed tears in her eyes as she approached her friend. "Pinag-alala mo kami!!!"

Mingyu looked around, confused on what was going on. "A—anong nangyari? Nasaan ako?" he mumbled weakly. He tried to sat up, but Wheein stopped him.

"Gyu, magpahinga ka muna." Wheein replied, "Nandito ka ngayon sa school clinic kasi nahimatay ka kanina."

Mingyu widened his eyes in disbelief, "Ha?
Nahimatay ako? Paano ako napunta dito? Sino nagdala sa akin?" he asked, panicking. He cannot recall what happened a while ago, all he knows is he was about to go out of the room.

Yeri explained, "Kanina kasi 'di ba naiwan tayong dalawa? Tapos lumabas ako ng room para sumagot ng tawag."

Mingyu remained quiet as he nodded his head, waiting for her to tell about what happened.

"Tapos ayun ang tagal mong lumabas. Nagtext na nga ako kaya sa'yo kasi sabi ko babalik ako." Yeri revealed. "Then ayun pagbalik ko sa room..."

All of her friends went closer to her, curious to hear the rest of the story.

"Yeri, 'wag kang pasuspense." Minki said in annoyance.

"Sino nagdala sa akin dito?" Mingyu asked.

"Nakita ko na lang buhat-buhat ka kahit ambigat mo ni—" Yeri's words were cut short when...

The school nurse and Wonwoo went inside the clinic.

"Hay! Ang laki mo na talagang bata ka. Dati estudyante ka lang dito eh." Nurse Song said while ruffling Wonwoo's hair, as the latter smiled at her.

Mingyu almost swooned at the sight. He still can't believe that the usual stoic and nonchalant doctor can smile like that.

"Siya. Buhat ka niya kanina." Yeri pointed. "Buti nga kahit ang laki-laki mo nabuhat ka niya. Alam mo 'yung parang knight-in-shining armor ganon."

"Buti nabuhat ka niya. Ako nga hindi kita kayang buhatin. Napakabigat mo kasi." Minhyuk joked.

"May sakit na nga ginaganyan mo pa!" Minki scolded him.

The group went silent when the two walked towards them. Wonwoo was carrying a clutch bag, probably containing his stethoscope.

Mingyu's friends who were scattered around him, were divided into half, as they make way for Wonwoo.

Nurse Song's phone suddenly rang. "Doc, okay lang ba na sagutin ko muna 'to sa labas?"

"Opo. Ako na bahala sa kanya. Pahiram na lang po muna ng pangkuha ng blood pressure tapos pulse oximeter." Wonwoo answered politely.

The school nurse handed Wonwoo a sphygmomanometer and finger pulse oximeter and placed them on top of the bedside table.

"Thank you Nurse Song." Wonwoo said.

"Saglit lang ako doc ha?" The nurse stated before leaving the clinic. Wonwoo just nodded his head in response.

"Labas muna kami brader." Yeri said.
