The cold air pinched my skin as I walked home. I kept on shivering letting my anger boil my blood until my blood felt like it was warming my skin. My phone kept on ringing and ringing and I kept on ignoring it with every call or text coming through. I was going to find Dr. Valentine even if it killed me. Once I got to the apartment, ran up the stairs and slammed the front door. I sank to my knees, barracking the door with my body. Tears of frustration and anger flooded my face while I buried my head in my knees. *Knock Knock Knock* my spine vibrated from the force of the knocks. 'Anne open up!' Xavier's muffled voice came from behind the door. Hoping he would go away, I remained silent. Taking off my heels, I slowly stood up and crept to my bedroom. I got my backpack out from under my bed and started to pack clothes in it along with money, phone, laptop, paper and pens. We were the 7th floor so it was a long jump down. The only way out was through the front door which meant talking to Xavier. 'Anne. Come out here please. We need to talk. I know you're in there.' My frustration got the better of me as I raged towards the door and flung it open to find Xavier standing there with a bag slung across his shoulders. 'Grab your stuff and let's go.' He turned me around and pushed me towards my room with my mouth still open. I snatched my bag off my bed and followed him out the door. 'Lance come in Lance.' I froze as the walkie talkie vibrated from within my bag. 'Lance do you have her?' I swung my bag from off my shoulders and dropped to the ground searching for the walkie talkie. I pulled it out before the voice talked again. 'Lance. Answer me or you will be in a world of pain.' Xavier snatched the walkie talkie right out of my hands. I stared at him as he answered. 'I have her.' The walkie talkie went crackly as we sat in the hall, backs against the walls of the hall waiting for a reply. 'Okay we're sending the car. What is your location?' I nodded gingerly before Xavier spoke again. 'We in the ally way between the Freedom shopping centre on Broadwalk Street and 6th avenue apartment block.' Xavier stood up and dragged me down the hall way after him. 'Xavier let go.' I ripped my arm from his grip. He turned to face me with rage and fear flooding his eyes behind what was his calm and easy look. 'Don't Anne. Just follow me and shut up for once. You scared the shit out of me back then. I thought I was going to lose you.' I looked back at him with guilt rushing through my body. My legs started to shake and before long my whole body was shaking violently. Tears started to flood down my face as Xavier steadied me with his strong arms wrapping around my waist. 'Lance we are sending the car now. Make sure she is tied up and restrained with those drugs I gave you.' Xavier swore silently under his breath before he spoke again. I could tell he was scared through his tone. 'I can't do this.' He brought the walkie talkie up to his mouth before pressing the talk button. 'Lance is dead. Shot by the best.' My heart warmed up before I spoke. 'You tell Dr. Valentine that I will find him and when I do, he will suffer.'
