"You're a business man?" Edward asked as he got comfortable on the couch after having coffee.
"Yeah." Steve said. You could tell he was nervous. Like he hadn't done this before. Meeting the family and all.
"That's nice." He said, "How'd you guys meet?" Edward asked you.
"A common friend of ours set us up on a blind date." You said.
"Looks like it worked." Edward smiled at you and turned towards Steve once again, "And what are your intentions with my sister?"
"Oh God. There he goes again." You mumbled under your breath.
"I heard that." Edward said.
Steve chuckled, "Nothing bad, I can assure you that." Steve said. "We're still getting to know each other."
"Okay. I approve him." Edward said.
"Thank God. I thought you'd scare him away too." You said and rested your head against Steve's shoulder.
"Oh I will if he doesn't keep you happy." He said. "No offense, Rogers."
"None taken." Steve said and his phone pinged. He removed his phone and looked at the text that came in.
Bucky: Something has come up. We need to talk. Come back ASAP.
"What is it?" You asked.
"Don't know. Looks like an urgent matter. I gotta go." Steve looked at you with an expression only you'd understand. "Something came up at work."
"Oh. It's fine. You can go." You said.
"Thanks." Steve smiled, "Sorry. I have to go. But I'll come soon so we can talk more." He said to Edward.
"It's fine, Steve." Edward said. "We'll meet up soon."
"I'll walk you out." You said as Steve stood up to leave. You walked him out to the elevator and made sure the door was closed before you talked with him. "What is it?"
"I don't know. But it's not related to business." Steve said. "I will come and meet you at your cafe tomorrow during lunch. Okay?"
"Yeah." You nodded, "Take care of yourself." You said and hugged him.
"Yes, baby." Steve said. He pulled away and grasped your chin between his fingers, tilting your head for a kiss. "I will."
"And tell Bucky not to anything stupid as well. I know you guys too well." You said, nuzzling your head in his strong and firm chest.
"Yes." He chuckled and pulled away and pecked your lips. God he was addicted to those lips of yours. He had to keep control over himself, "I'll tell him."
"Good. Now go." You said, "And don't do anything stupid yourself."
"How can I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Steve said and smirked at you.
"Nice line, Rogers." You said.
Steve laughed and shook his head, "I'll go. Take care." He said and stepped in the elevator. "Bye."
"Bye. See you tomorrow."
"Sure. See you tomorrow." Steve said as he waved at you and the elevator closed. You sighed and went back to your apartment.
"You like him, don't you?" Edward asked as he sat on the couch scrolling through his phone.
"Yes, Ed." You said. "I really do."
"Do you love him?" He asked and you looked at him in shock. "What? I can see it in your eyes the way you look at him."
"Yeah. But it's too soon. And I don't know if he feels the same." You said.
"He does, bug. He does." Edward said.
"How do you know?"
Edward scoffed and chuckled a little, "Even a blind man can see it."
"Yeah, yeah. How long are you staying?" You changed the subject.
"Till this weekend."
"Okay. You can have the guest room." You said.
"Sure. I'm gonna go get some sleep." He said and stood up, "Good night, bug." Edward kissed your forehead and walked towards the guest bedroom.
You heard the door click close as you thought over what Edward said. You loved Steve like you never loved anyone before. But did he feel the same about you though?
