Liz: Annyeonghaseyo and welcome to another episode of SYNCNATION, your favorite reality TV show! Today, Lia and I have cooked up something extra special for our little cultists— I mean, squad members.
Lia: and what we will be doing today is...
[dramatic drumroll sound effect and the camera pans towards a giant sign]
Lia: laser tag!
[cut to the inside of the building where Liz is standing in front of a wall covered with laser tag guns]
Liz: if you don't know the rules of laser tag, it's pretty simple. You get a harness and a gun, and have to run around in the dark shooting at other players' harnesses. If your laser beam hits them, they are out for seven seconds and you gain points. If you get hit, you are out for seven seconds and you lose points. Pretty simple, now let's get these idiots suited up!
[enter the rest of the squad, while Liz and Lia are already suited up]
Cho: why are you the only one wearing all black? It's summertime!
Liz: well... you'll see.
Ana: I don't like the sound of that.
Lia: anyway, suit up, people! You have a light-up target in the middle of your chest and the same spot on your back. That's where you aim your laser gun.
Ali: *trips over a harness strap*
Markos: I knew this would happen...
James: why did we let the two most violent girls on the squad pick a game?
Lia: well if it was down to only me, I would've have y'all fight each other in an underground fighting club.
Liz: you have me to thank for avoiding that.
Cho: ...suddenly, laser tag doesn't seem so bad.
[everyone gets suited up and the last one is Ali because she had a hard time finding one small enough for her]
Liz: well that took an unnecessarily long time... grab your guns, and as soon as we step onto the field, the harnesses and guns will be activated.
Markos: what sorcery is this...?
[each person's harness and gun lights up a different color: Ali, purple; Ana, pink; Cho, yellow; James, green; Eliza, light blue; Markos, dark blue; Lia, white]
Liz: we have a twenty second long grace period before the guns activate and we can start shooting, so everyone scatter!
[a giant timer appears on the screen counting down from twenty; the squad runs off in different directions in the enclosed space resembling a giant playground in the dark lit with UV lights and the scoreboard. Cut to camera shots from all over the area, showing various squad members finding good hiding places]
Timer: 5...4...3...2...1!
[the laser guns in each person's hand lights up the same color as their harness]
Lia: YOU'RE ALL GOING DOWN!!!
Cho: well... so much for stealth.
[comically fake gunshot noises start ringing out as the squad begins to shoot one another. A bolt from Lia's gun hits Ana's chest and her harness blinks out]
Ana: aw, darnit...
[cut to a shot of the scoreboard, where Lia's name is currently at the top]
Cho: quick Ali, jump on my shoulders so no one will step on you!
Ali: HEY— actually that's a good idea *clambers onto Cho's shoulders*
