I HATE TO BE RUDE AND DO THIS (only a little though), but y'all need to stop commenting that it's hydras not dragons. I appreciate your comments and support, I really do trust me, but having a million comments say that is just plain frustrating for starters. I KNOW THAT!!! But guess what, both don't exist, both are very similar creatures, AND THIS IS A QUOTE THAT ISN'T EVEN FROM MY BOOK!!! It's from Criss Jami's poetry book, Venus in Arms, which looks like pretty fucking good read in my opinion.
So basically, even if I wanted to change it, I couldn't because it's a quote from someone else. And trust me, I don't because this book is called dragons not hydras and honestly this quote is pretty fucking accurate for Ellie anyway. Okay, peace out have a good day and comment other things that I don't already know thanks.

Confidence is like a dragon where, for every head cut off, two more heads grow back

-Criss Jami, Venus in arms

"Mom! Dad!" Oliver shouted and Ellie raced past the people after him. It was Christmas break and they had just passed through platform nine and three-quarters to see their parents waiting for them. She made it to her family and her mum pulled her in for a hug.

"All ready?" Their dad asked once he had hugged her and their mum had hugged Oliver. The two of them nodded and followed their parents outside.

"We rented a muggle car," their mum said as they walked towards a van that looked about ready to fall apart. To be honest, Ellie wasn't sure she wanted to climb in, it looked more like a death machine, but the rest of her family climbed in so she followed suit and soon enough they had made it home without dying.

"Go unpack your stuff; dinner will be ready soon," their mum said and they both bolted upstairs, pushing past each other and trying to trip each other down the hall as they dragged their trunks.

"Move your fat ar-butt out of the way," Ellie grunted as Oliver tried to block her way. She dived past him and into her own room, slamming the door so he would not try to follow her inside.

Her cat, Artemis, was already curled up at the foot of her bed and her owl, Hermes, was asleep in his cage, which was perched atop the stack of old notebooks she had left on her desk. Hermes had been a gift for making Quidditch captain and he mostly slept and nipped at her fingers.

She dropped her truck from her grasp and scooped up Artemis who immediately began to purr as Ellie cuddled her. When she dropped the cat back down on her covers, Artemis curled up and went back to sleep, her black fur standing out on the bright blue comforter.

She hadn't really brought home much, some clothes and a few books for studying, so it did not take her long to unpack and, sooner than she would have liked, she was torn away from her book to eat dinner with her family.

"So how's school been, Oliver?" Their mum asked as soon as they had started eating. He already had his mouth full and did not bother swallowing before answering. "Please don't talk with your mouth full."

"Sorry mum," he said and Ellie grinned at him. He stuck his tongue out as soon as the attention was turned on her.

"How about you Ellie? How's school?"

She went to answer, but before she could get a word out her brother sand, "Ellie's got a boyfriend."

Glaring, she aimed a kick at him. He winched and bent slightly over to rub at it while she smiled in success.

"Is this true Ellie?" Her mother asked, sounding absolutely delighted, and her smile faded.

"Well, I mean we've only gone to Hogsmeade together like twice. I wouldn't exactly call it dating."
