"Babe." I heard Buster's quiet voice say as I was sleeping.
"Hmm?" I said, snuggling farther into my sheets.
"I'm about to leave for the game." I felt the bed dip down beside me.
"Oh. I'll get up." I started to rise from the bed but Buster's hand stopped me.
"No no. I think you should stay here and rest." He stroked his thumb over my cheek as I looked at him.
"Mmkay." I said, snuggling into the sheets.
"I'll see you later." He kissed my temple before standing up from the bed and quietly shutting the door.

Buster's POV
"Dude. You're late." Bummy said as I walked into the locker room.
"Sorry. Sammy had a family problem last night and I had to make sure she was ok this morning." I said, slipping out of my t-shirt and into my jersey.
"Is she ok?" Joe asked.
"Not even close. But she's not a hysterical mess so, I guess that's good." I said as I laced up my cleats.
"What happened?" He asked, taking a seat beside me.
"Her brother died. He had lung cancer, and he had been pretty good for a while, but I guess it just spiraled out of control." I said, chewing on the inside of my bottom lip.
"Oh jeez. Can we see her later?" He asked, standing up and stretching.
"Yeah. I would wait until tomorrow, since she'll probably be at the game." I stood up and collected my stuff before climbing up the steps to the dugout. I checked my phone one last time and saw I had a text from Sammy.
From: Sammy❤️😘
Hey baby. Good luck today! You know I'll be watching it on the tv! Love you.😘To: Sammy❤️😘
Of course I know that, baby. I'll see you soon. Feel better. Love you gorgeous.😚As I locked my phone I realized I had been smiling the whole time.
"You guys are too cute." Kontos said, causing me to look up at him. "You and Sam. Unless that wasn't her."
"Yes that was Sam." I said, giving him the 'really' look. I smiled down at my lock screen. It was a picture of Sam, standing in the kitchen, with my jersey on and fluffy black socks. She had no idea I even had the picture.
"Ew. Stop being so cute." He said, sitting on the bench beside me.
I laughed and put my phone away before beginning to put on my catchers gear, after all, we were at home.
Sam's POV
"Are you seriously yelling at me for not being able to leave until tomorrow?" I said, frustrated at my mother.
All I'm saying is that it's your brother. You would think you'd care a bit more.
"You think I don't care? I'm lucky I can even make it, with Buster's schedule."
Alright. Bye.
"Bye." I said, hanging up and throwing my phone down onto the bed.
"Guess who's home?" Buster called out from the living room. "Sammy?"
"Right here." I said quietly, walking out of the bedroom.
"What's wrong?" He asked, coming over towards me.
"Nothing." I said, shaking my head and looking at my feet.
"Sammy, I've known you forever. I can tell when something is wrong." He stuck his finger under my chin and lifted my head so I was looking at him. "Now tell me, what's wrong?"
"My mom! She's yelling at me saying I don't care about my brother and that if I did I would have went down earlier. She's making me so mad." I rubbed my hands over my face.
"Hey, hey. Listen Princess. It's ok. It's not your fault. Calm down." He said calmly.
"I'm such a horrible person. I'm such a horribl-" I was cut off by his soft lips smashing onto mine.
"What was that for?" I whispered against his lips.
"You needed to shut up." He said, cracking a small smile.
