World Series: Game six
Kansas City, MissouriIt was the bottom of the eighth inning and the score was 10-0 and the Royals were winning. I was freezing as I watched the game so I put the hood up on Buster's sweatshirt and wrapped a blanket around myself.
After they finally got the last out for the inning I sighed. I don't know why, I just did. I had my hands rested on my belly as I watched the last inning of the game, sighing when it ended.
I stood up from my seat and gripped the railing as I walked towards the locker room. I sat outside, smiling at the occasional stranger passing by. I heard the door open and I looked up and saw Joe walking out.
"Are you guys doing ok?" I asked, causing him to look over at me.
"Yeah. Angry, but we'll get over it. At least we have an opportunity." He said, ruffling his hair.
"Yeah. We'll I'll talk to you later. I probably should go find Buster. Bye." I said, smiling at him before quietly walking into the locker room.
I looked through the crowd of men, who all had pants on, so I could find my fiancé. I found him wearing an angry look at his face. I walked over to him, smiling sadly at each of the boys.
"Darling," I said, resting my hand on his back, causing him to jump.
"Hey." He said, not looking up at me.
"You ready to go?" I asked, rubbing his back.
"Yeah. Let's go." He picked up his back and left the locker room without saying bye to any of the boys.
"Bye guys. I'll see you all later." I said, causing them all to smile at me before I left the locker room and grabbed Buster's hand.
"Are you ok, babe?" I asked, looking up at him. He looked down at me and the mad look on his face softened into a small smile.
"Just a little angry, that's all. Just want to get home and rest." He said, causing me to lean my head on this shoulder.
Once we got to the car, Buster threw his bag in the back seat and then climbed into the front. Once I got in, he started the car and intertwined our fingers.
We drove quietly back to the hotel and he helped me out of the car and to the room. Once we got there he jumped in the shower and I washed his clothes.
"You didn't have to wash that," he said, drying his hair with a towel.
"I don't mind." I hung his jersey up on a hanger and stuck it in the small closet that was in our hotel room. Just as I went to lay down there was knock on the door.
I sighed and walked over to the door. I swung it open and saw Belt standing there with an embarrassed face. "What's up?"
"We don't know how to use the washing machine." He said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.
"One second," I turned around and looked at Buster.
"Babe. I'll be right back. They can't figure out the washing machine." I said, laughing. He smiled before nodded.
"Alright. Let's go." I said, closing the door behind me.
"I really hate to make you walk down to our room." He said, opening the door.
"It's totally ok. At least you guys didn't try to do it and then like ruin your jersey." I said, walking over to the washing machine that all the boys were trying to figure out.
"Excuse me." I said, sticking my hand out. "Jerseys."
They all put their jerseys in my grip and I threw them in the machine. I quickly got it started and then showed them how to work it and the dryer.
"...so when this done, move it to the dryer. Then put your pants in and do what I just showed you. Got it?"
"Got it." They all said, nodding their heads.
"Alright. I'm going to bed. Goodnight guys."
"Night." They all chorused back as I walked back down to my room.
I got their and unlocked the door before shutting it and climbing into the bed.
"Night darling." I whispered, wrapping my arms around his waist.
