February 7, 2015

I looked at the clock on the night stand by the bed.

11:00

I sighed and rolled back over. I've gotten zero hours of sleep. I had been getting sharp pains in my stomach all night. Buster had tried to get me to go to the doctor. I had told him I was fine but he seemed unconvinced.

That was around nine, so two hours ago. I clenched the blanket in my fists as I cried out in pain.

"Babe," Buster's sleepy voice caught my attention. "I think we should go."

"Ok. Will you grab me a pair of slippers?"

I slipped on Buster's sweatshirt he wore at the parade and grabbed the slippers from him before slowly walking to the living room.

"Hunter, I need you to bring any outfit you can find for the baby." Buster said quickly into the phone.

"Yes it needs to be urgent. It's happening like right now."

"Thank you so much."

He hung up the phone and walked over to the bed. "He's on his way."

He grabbed my hand just as the doctor walked in. "Are you ready?"

"I doubt there's a 'no' option." I said, causing him to laugh lightly.

Buster's POV

Watching the love of your life screaming in pain and knowing there was nothing you could do is torture.

But her squeezing my hand so hard it felt like my fingers were breaking was probably adding onto it. But it didn't compare to the pain my girl was in.

Her hair had starting sticking to her face so I pulled it up and tied it into a bun.

"You'll be ok baby. Trust me. It'll be worth it." I said softly, rubbing my thumb over her cheekbone. "You squeeze my hand as hard as you need to."

She responded to that by squeezing my hand. "Just like that." I said, masking my pain.

"... And you have a beautiful baby girl." The doctor said, causing both me and Sam to look at our little creation.

He wrapped her in a pink blanket before handing her to me. I looked down at her and smiled when I saw that she was looking up at me with wide eyes. I put my finger by her face and she wrapped all ten of her fingers around it.

"Babe, can I see her?" Sam's raspy voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Of course." I carefully handed her the baby.

"Do you have an idea for a name?" The nurse asked, a pen in her hand.

"I was thinking Madison Marie Posey. What about you baby?" Sam asked, smiling up at me.

"I absolutely love it." I kissed her cheek, causing the nurse to smile before writing it down.

"We will go bathe her and get her all set up and then we will bring her right back." The nurse informed us, carefully taking the baby out of Sam's hands.

"I love you." Sam said, wrapping her fingers around my arm.

"I love you too baby girl." I said, kissing her lips softly.
