A doorbell rings and I hear a man's voice. "Liam! Lottie! Jack's here!" I grin and jump up off of the bath side. "Phone" He shakes his head smiling and hands it over. "Come on, slow poke!" I cry running down the stairs towards the front door. I'm almost at the last step when I trip over with a lound thud. "Oh my God! Lottie, are you ok?" Liam yells sprinting towards me. I look up at him and start wailing. He bites his lip nervously and lifts me up onto his hip. "Shh. I've got you. You're alright. Shh. Where does it hurt?" I point to my knee which is bleeding. "Mike, can you get a plaster?" Mike nods and sprints into the office. The visitor, whom I'm guessing is Jack, sits next to us on the stairs. "Hello, sweetheart" he says stroking my back. I wave at him but keep my head in Liam's hoodie. "Jack, this is Lottie, our sister" I hear footsteps and look up to see Mike knelt in front of me with a first aid box. "Right this first bit'll sting" he says getting out an antiseptic wipe. I flinch as it touches my sking and cling tighter to Liam's hoodie. "Shh. It's nearly over. Shh" Liam whispers in my ear as Mike smoothes the plaster over my knee. "Good girl" I look up and lean aginst Liam. He winks and kisses my hair gently. "Jack, please can she live with us? She's family and you let me live with you" Liam asks our older brotherwho nods. "Alright as long as her social worker agrees" Mike beams standing up and leaning against the wall.  "Good thing he already has then, isn't it?" Jack chuckles and helps Liam to his feet whilst I'm still in his arms. "Alright then you two. Let's go. You can visit again next Sunday, ok?" Liam nods and holds me to his chest as we step outside.

Outside, Liam leads me to what I think is Jack's car. Once we reach it, Jack opens the back seat door for us. Liam slips me into a car seat which Mike has put in. I shake my head, struggling as he strapping me in. I've never been in a car before and I don't like it. Jack sighs rubbing his face. "Lottie, I've got to put you in a car seat, by law. And as a police officer, I have to set a good example. Liam will be sitting next to you the whole time, so you're safe. Nothing's going to happen to you" I nod tears running down my face, allowing them to continue strapping me in. Once I'm strapped in, Liam takes off his hoodie giving it to me before getting in himself. "There we go, you can hold my hoodie until we get home ok?" I nod and sniff it. It smells of Liam, toothpaste, aftershave, and mints. Seeing that we're ok, Jack slips into the driving seat before turning the ignition on. "Liam, seatbelt" Liam nods doing as he is told. As soon as he's got his seatbelt on, Jack drives and I set off for my new life.
