"What?" I watched Anna look up at me as her mouth turned into a giant grin, reminiscent of a small child that was just bought the toy they always wanted. Her obvious excitement soon turned anxious as she glared down at her phone. "What's the matter little one?" I don't know where the little one came from. I called her that this morning too. I shook my head, shaking the words off my tongue.

"I uh... I don't know who my father is, so I decided to do one of those ancestry DNA things to see if I could find any family." She held her phone up, "well it says I have a match but I'm too nervous to click it."

"Okay." I hold my hand out to her, "do you want me to look at your results?"

Her face lit up as she handed me her phone, "could you?"

I don't know why I'm getting so involved in the life of someone I don't even know, but somehow I can't help myself. I sigh, clicking on the notification. "Welsh, Scottish, some Sweden and English. Explains your pasty complexion."

Anna laughs as I sit on the bed beside her. "As if you have any room to talk. Keep going."

I nod, clicking on the potential matches, almost dropping the phone as I do. "Fuck."

"What?" Anna yanks the phone from my hand to look at it before staring up at me as I stand from the bed, pacing. Trying to wrap my head around what is going on, remembering little things that pointed to this all along. I look over at Anna who is still only staring at me with those big blue eyes I've seen my whole life. "You're my brother?"

I could deny it, say it doesn't make any sense, but it does. It makes all the sense. "Now I know why I've been drawn to you, but not in any romantic way. I saw something when we met. You.. you have his eyes."

She stands, nodding as she grabs my arm to force me to stop and look at her, "so do you. Dean Jennings?!"

"His first name is Tobias. I knew about you, but I never thought we'd meet."

"You knew? You knew you had a sister?"

I nodded, "yeah. My father has talked to me about it. That's why I originally did the same thing. I did the ancestry thing years ago hoping to find you, but I never did."

"I don't understand." She rakes her hands down her face, plopping back on the bed just before the door opens. I turn to see Tyler glaring at us, glancing concerned at Anna.

"What's going on? Why is he in here?"

She shook her head, pointing to the bed, "just close the door and sit down." He didn't say anything as he did as she asked, peeling off his ski clothes before pulling on some gray sweatpants. He plopped on the far side of the bed as she brought her gaze back to me. "He told you about me?"

"Yeah. I know he tried to find you for a while when I was a kid. Though I didn't know at the time. He didn't tell me until I was a teenager that I had a younger sister somewhere."

Having been on the verge of tears this whole time, she finally let them loose, sobbing. "She told me he didn't want me!"

I glanced at Tyler and he only glared at me, nodding his head towards her. I groaned, pulling her to her feet to wrap my arms around her as she cried, "of course he wanted you little one. I'm sorry."

Once she calmed down, she pulled away to glance up at me, "I think we have some things to talk about, I have so many questions."

I sighed, "I know. Perhaps you can come to my.. our father's house tomorrow? Might be better for him to answer your questions as opposed to me." Anna nodded but I could tell she was still apprehensive. "I'll be there with you."

"I can come with you too, if you want."

She turned to Tyler to grab his hand as he approached her, "could you?"

"Of course."

I watched him wrap her in a hug as she rested her head on his chest, "so if you aren't together, what is between you guys? And what about Sebastian?"

Tyler tensed up, pulling away from Anna, "he knows about Sebastian?"

She sighed, "yes. I..." She glanced at Tyler and then back at me, "Tyler is my best friend. Sebastian is who I'm in love with."

"Love?! Anna, he's too old for you, not to mention he's married." A new surge of protectiveness sprung from my gut I hadn't felt before as I watched her roll her eyes at me.

"As if that kept you from sleeping with Vanessa?"

"First of all, we're the same age. Second of all.." I sighed, "touché."

"You slept with Vanessa?! Are you insane? Are you the father?"

"Woah." I backed away from Tyler with my hands raised before Anna moved to stand between us, "today was the one and only time. I was bored, she came onto me. Am I stupid for not saying no? Of course. But it was only the once."

Anna nodded, turning towards me, "you promise it was just this once? I don't want to start this relationship with you on a lie."

"I promise."

She sighed, "okay. Then I won't tell Sebastian. He already knows she's cheating on him. Him knowing you were one won't do anything to help him."

"Thank you. And I will keep whatever is going on between you and Sebastian to myself. But that doesn't mean I don't want to talk more about it."

She rolled her eyes but nodded, "yeah. Fine. Falling right into that older brother role quickly, aren't you?"

I chuckled, "I guess so, yeah. I'm gonna go for now. And I'm gonna call my dad and tell him I'm coming by tomorrow." I left without a response, leaving her with Tyler. I leaned back on the door for a moment, absorbing what just happened. I woke up this morning as an only child and now all of a sudden I have a sister.
