I glance up at the brownstone as Greg stops the car, putting it in park. I lift my head from Sebastian's lap, "where are we?"
Greg comes to open my door for me, holding his hand out to help me out of the backseat, "this is my place. I want you to stay with me."
I glance at Sebastian and Tyler as Tyler pulls a bag of the back of the car. "I had Lindsey pack some stuff for you. Including your school stuff and computer."
I look back at Greg, "I don't want to intrude. And you don't even know me, you are willing to just let me stay here?"
"Of course." He put his arm around my shoulder as he led us to the front door and we followed him inside. "I stay here by myself. It will be nice to have someone else in the house. And we can get to know each other better. And when you're ready, I'll invite our father over. Okay?"
"Okay." I turn back to Sebastian, "and you?"
He sighed, threading his fingers through mine. "I have to go home. I need to get some things settled. I think you should stay home tomorrow."
I groan and look at Greg and Tyler who are both watching us. "Can you show me to my bedroom so Sebastian and I can have a minute?" Greg rolls his eyes but nods to the stairs as he grabs my bag and backpack for me. We all follow him to the second floor where he opens a door and I step inside first. It's a simple room with a queen sized bed, a dresser and a chair beside the window. "This is great. Thank you Greg."
He smiles when I turn to him, "sure. There's a bathroom across the hall. My bedroom is on the third floor. So this is all yours for as long as you want little one. I'm gonna go make something to eat. You hungry?"
I nod, my hand moving to my stomach as it growls as if hearing Greg's words, "I am actually." When he walks away, I look between Sebastian and Tyler before turning to Sebastian, "can you give us a minute?" I could see the war raging in Tyler's eyes, stuff he wanted to say.
"Of course."
As soon as Sebastian has the door closed behind him, I feel Tyler's arms wrapped around me. "I'm so sorry Anna. It's all my fault."
"Stop." I pull away to look at him and I see the tears streaming down his face, "Ty." I groaned, pulling him back to me, "I'm okay."
"No the fuck you aren't!" He pulled away, his hands balled into fists like they were in the kitchen. "It's my fault. I never should have taken you. I never thought he would do something like that. You must hate me!"
"God." I gripped Tyler's face in my hands to make him look at me, "I don't hate you. I love you. You're my best friend. And I need you. If anyone has the right to feel sorry for themselves, it's me. Stop making everything about you. Who are you, Chase?"
And with that I knew I had him, he relaxed as he laughed, "don't ever mistake me for Chase again." He grabbed my hand in his, "and I love you too. I'll go so you can make out with your professor now. You're a kinky girl, Princess."
I couldn't help but blush as I hit him in the chest, "shut up. And you have no idea."
He groaned, placing his hands over his ears, "I don't want to know. I only want to know how he treats you." He leaned down to kiss my cheek, "call me if you need anything."
I nod as he leaves and Sebastian enters, closing the door to lean back against it. He held his arms up as I made my way to him, nuzzling my head in his chest as he pulled me to him, resting his head on mine. "I don't know what to say to make this better. And I know there isn't anything I could say, but I just know that all I want to do is hold you and never let you go."
My heart flutters as I pulled back slightly to look up at him, "that's a pretty good start. And yet you're going to leave me?"
He groaned, bringing a hand up to stroke my cheek, "I have to. I have to get a new place. And then maybe you can move in with me?"
"Ugh." I pull away completely from him, "what is with all you men wanting to shelter me."
"Not shelter, protect."
"And where were all you to protect me last night?!" I clutch my eyes shut to block out the pain that registers in Sebastian's eyes as he moved towards me.
"Anna." His voice is barely a whisper as he pulls me back to his chest once more.
"I'm sorry. That wasn't fair. But I can't live with you. We barely know each other. You've never even taken me out on a proper date."
"I know." This time he pulls away to grab my chin, tilting it gently so our eyes meet. "Valentine's Day is this coming Friday. Be my Valentine, Anna?"
"I'd love to. Going to take me out?"
He nodded, "yes."
I grinned, "I can't wait. Now you should go so I can bond with my brother."
He pulled my mouth to his, a deep longing kiss as he brushed his tongue along mine teasingly before pulling away. "Goodnight darling."
After taking a shower and pulling on some leggings and t-shirt, I wandered back downstairs to the kitchen. Greg had changed from his jeans to shorts and a t-shirt too. He slid a grilled cheese sandwich to me as he leaned on the counter, watching me. "Thank you." I watched him smile, not saying anything, "I wish you guys would stop looking at me as if I'm about to break. Please."
He nodded, standing up to move against the far counter, crossing his arms over his chest, "I'm sorry. I just don't know what to say or do."
I sighed, "that's what Sebastian said. I appreciate you wanting to take care of me, I do. But I just need to feel normal, okay?" He nodded as I continued, "did you tell your.. our dad that we found each other?"
"I did. I didn't tell him about last night. Just that we found each other and that I wouldn't force you to meet him until you're ready. He agreed and is happy that we met for now. And is excited to meet you."
"He is?" I picked at my sandwich, suddenly nervous to look him in the eye.
"Yes. Of course. I told you he would be." He crossed the room to stand beside me, placing his hand gently on my arm so I looked up at him.
"I'm just not used to having a parent that cares. Or even a brother. I'm used to being alone. I've never had a family."
He sighed, pulling me to my feet as he pulled me into a hug, "well you aren't alone anymore little one. Safe to say, it looks like your family is ever growing. Tyler, Sebastian, Chase and Lindsey. Me. All you have to do is let us in."
"Thank you." I turn away from him to wipe a stray tear without him seeing as I looked around the place, "what do you do? I never asked. This is a nice place."
Greg chuckled, "stock broker."
I can't help but laugh, "I come from nothing. And yet my brother, my best friend, and my.. Sebastian are all loaded?" Felt weird calling Sebastian my boyfriend when we hadn't even really been on a date yet.
He grins, "I guess so. Now let us take care of you. You don't have to take care of yourself anymore, Anna. I'll get you a credit card tomorrow so you can buy stuff for your room and clothes to leave here. That'll always be your room so you'll always have a place to go. No matter what, okay?" I can only nod as tears fall again. I can't imagine what I had done to deserve this new 'family' I was acquiring. I could only hug him again before he finally pulled away. "I'm going to go to bed. It's been a long day. Don't bother with the dishes, I'll do them in the morning. Let me know if you need anything. Okay?"
"Okay. Goodnight big brother." I finish my sandwich, setting the plate in the sink. I snoop around the first floor, finding a library with a piano tucked away in the corner and I wonder if my brother shares the gift of music as I do.
