We walked into the office and, as nice as possible, asked if we could go to the ice cream shop across the street. She agreed with no hesitation. Odd, but considering what happened already today, I'm not surprised. So, we just backed out towards the doors and exited the office quietly. As we walked towards the elavators, Jake and I were talking about anything and everything. We definatly still needed to catch up on the news. As we exited the building, I offered that we have a race there, and loser had to buy the winner ice cream. He accepted the offer , and we shook hands on it.

"On your mark, get set, GO!" I yelled. I dashed before Jake could even here the end of my sentence. I was in the lead, but he was catching up pretty quick. I decided to use a technique agents used when they're being chased. I hid behind a lamp post and waited for him to come closer. As he passed the post I tripped him and he fell, then I dashed for it again, laughing. I was almost at the doors when two arms were wrapped around me. I squealed and turned around. Jake was the one who had his warm arms around me with a goofy grin on his face. I grinned back and he let go. We stared into each others' eyes for awhile. I was so captivated in them. I just wanted to lean in and kiss his soft lips.Jake finally broke the awkward silence, "I guess it's a tie." I nodded and we walked into the ice cream parlor.

I ordered one scoop of plain vanilla and Jake... Well, I'm surprised those muscles aren't blubber. He ordered 3 scoops of chocolate ice cream. I gasped at his amount of ice cream. He payed for his and I payed for mine. We sat down at a table next to this weird guy who wasn't even eating ice cream, he was just reading the newspaper. Jake and I talked, ate, and talked. It was really fun talking to him. He always had something funny to say in an awkward moment.

But there was this one moment when the weird guy was looking at me right in the eyes, and said, "You scream, I scream, We all scream for ice cream." I turned pale and stiffened. Jake must've heard this comment, because he did the same. The man stood up and walked out of the parlor. "That was weird," Jake stated, his face slowly turning back to it's original color. I nodded.

Soon, we continued our conversation, but less talking was involved. I was still a bit pale, but I didn't kniw until Jake asked if I was okay. I nodded again. Why was I so creeped out? I was a spy for crying out loud! But what he said really spooked me. The slogan always did. People always thought it was fun to say, but I just couldn't say it without being freaked out. I must've been thinking hard because Jake was shaking my shoulders. I shook my head and looked at him, "Yes?" He sighed, relieved, "Do you want to go home now?" I nodded and threw away my leftover ice cream. Suprisingly, he finished his. He took my hand and we walked back to the agency.

When we got into the building, we walked back into Mum's office. When we walked in we saw Mum in her chair, with her eyes closed. What the fuck is going on?!?!?. I ran to my unconscious mum and started shaking her shoulders rapidly. Jake ran over to me and pulled me off her. "LET ME GO! DON'T YOU SEE HER?!?! SHE'S UNCONSCIOUS! DON'T JUST STAND THERE. HELP HER!!!" I screamed at the poor boy who didn't know how much I cared about her. He put me down, but held my hand firmly, so  I wouldn't run back to her. He took out his phone and called 911. I twisted free of his grip and ran out of the office. "Someone get help! Please, Someone!" I hollered at the confused crowd of agents. They stood there for a moment, processing everything, but then they ran off finding help.

I fell to the ground on my knees. I started crying. I let them river down my damp skin. I was sweting. I was falling into unconsciousness, like my mum. I started falling forward, bracing for the impact on my face, but I never felt it. Instead, I felt warm strong arms pick me up and carry me bridal style. I didn't know who it was, but I knew I was safe.
