It had been about another week since my pregnancy scare. Thankfully, Scarlet let me come back to work as I was actually feeling better.
Sure, I threw up a few more times last week but I just assumed it was stress.
I was currently getting ready for a photoshoot with (ew) Kaysie of all people. How ironic that the photoshoot is about girl power.
She's been being a bitch all morning, throwing snide comments my way. I just ignored her and continued doing what I've been doing.
"Aspen, you have 5 minutes. I need you to get dressed now." Scarlet said, walking past me quickly.
I nodded and changed into the outfit, leaving my other clothes in the dressing room. For some reason, I couldn't get this stupid top on because it wouldn't fit over my stomach.
"Scar?" I called out the dressing room, seeing Kaysie smirk at me as she stood dressed and ready.
"Putting on a little weight, Aspen? Damn, you should've laid off all the pizza." She laughed, crossing her arms.
"Be quiet, Kaysie. What do you need help with Aspen?" Scarlet asked, putting her clipboard down on a table.
"I can't put this top on." I whispered to her, feeling kind of embarrassed because I did put on a little extra weight.
"Um, are you sure? This was tailored to your size just last week." She frowned, trying to pull it down over my stomach.
"Yes, I'm sure. It's too tight." I mumbled, wondering if there was something else.
"Well, we have another top and jacket that matches with these shorts. Adam, go get the backup outfit." Scarlet called to her assistant before turning back to me. "Next time, I need you to stick to the diet. You're lucky we had an extra outfit this time."
"That's the thing- I did stick to the diet. I just somehow put on this extra weight." I said, frowning and looking down at my stomach.
"It's fine. Next time just let me know before hand so we can change the sizes again." Scarlet said, handing me the other outfit before leaving out the dressing room.
As I was putting it on, I felt myself grow more and more confused. I really did stick to the diet she gave me like I do every time. So, what happened differently this time that made me gain weight?
I left the dressing room and made my way to the room that was doing the photoshoots. I saw Kaysie already in there with the other girl who was in the photoshoot with us.
I walked over to the backdrop, realizing we had to start now. I saw Scarlet directing the photographer as she sat in her chair.
"Aspen and Kaysie, I want you two girls sitting on the hood of the car. Ellie, I want you to kneel in front of them." Scarlet called out as we switched to where she told us to.
