For the first time since her mother left, Sheridan felt safe. She had been awake for what felt like hours but she didn't dare move for fear she would wake up Logan. She had never slept with a man after making love. She had never spent the night with a man other than her brother and father. She refused to allow herself to dwell on that sad fact and instead basked in the glow of what they had shared the night before.

Sheridan smiled as Logan squeezed her and pulled her closer to him. "Good morning," she said as she glanced over her shoulder at him.

"Yes, it is," he agreed before kissing her neck.

Sheridan started to move but his grip tightened. "Where are you going?"

Giggling, she replied, " I need a shower."

She couldn't help but grin in response to the sexy smirk he gave her. "Want me to wash your back?"

Sliding out from beneath the covers she returned the look and said, "As well as other places."

He much preferred the long, hot shower he had just shared with Sheridan to the cold ones he had been taking to get her out of his mind. He couldn't help but watch her across the breakfast table; she seemed more relaxed, lighter, freer than she ever had before. Perhaps he was an asshole for thinking so, but it didn't change his satisfaction with the thought that that change had something to do with him and the night they had shared.

"So, what's the plan for today?" he asked.

And just like that he pulled her back into the here and now. He noticed immediately that whatever brief feeling of peace she had, had been pissed all over by reality. Sheridan started spinning her juice glass.

"I have rehearsal at eleven. I thought we might hit a couple of large tables tonight if you don't have other plans."

And the questions were there now. That fine line they had crossed had now put her in a position of wanting her money's worth, but not seeming too needy to a man she just slept with.

"I'm all yours." Logan wasn't sure yet what all that statement meant, but for tonight he was hers - professionally and personally.

Sheridan smiled and took a sip of juice. "I think it's important that we win some and lose some, especially with the party this weekend." Logan agreed. He had plans to send word to Delgado the next day that he was accepting his invitation for Saturday night. He even went as far to cancel the false private jet reservation he had for Thursday night. He had to hand it to Sheridan and her brother; they left no stone unturned. It may have been a little overboard, but they were prepared for whatever may come their way.

Reaching across the table, Logan took Sheridan's empty hand. "It's going to be okay."

She only nodded. Unfortunately he knew that feeling of uncertainty; that feeling when hope mixed with fear. He wanted to take it away from her, but he knew he couldn't, not completely anyway. Not until they found Payton.

"I'll put some feelers out; get some ideas about where some of the biggest games might be tonight and tomorrow night. I'll also put some bets in different books. But, Friday is ours. No games, no clubs; just the two of us."

Though her smile didn't come as bright and naturally as it had even an hour ago, it wasn't forced. "I would like that."
