Ch48 My wife

JIMIN

I have been driving for almost an hour now, but Y/N never utters a word. I saw how she became confused and curious when she saw us heading out of the city, but she just sat silent. And I took the chance to tell her more about why I did things like this.

"My family is from Busan. I was born there too. My mother got kicked out of her family when she chose to run away and marry my dad. They are not in favour of Dad because he is not as wealthy as them. My parents and I moved to Seoul because of my dad's work, and they decided to start a new life in Seoul and forget what happened in Busan. When my grandparents died, they didn't leave any inheritance to my mum. They revoked their first will, according to which mum was supposed to have 3 hectares of land. I saw how mum got hurt, so I told myself I would work hard and give mum a better life than her siblings. So when one of my clients showed some interest in me, I grabbed the opportunity and it went on and on, saving all that money they paid me for my service. I was too focused on making my parents happy that I forgot myself. I'm too busy making money to bother asking someone out on a date. My Dad passed away early, so I increased my saving efforts. I knew it was wrong from the very start, but my urge to give mum a good life came first. But before I even started to do that, mum left me."

"From that, I told myself to keep going. There was nothing to lose anymore. My parents had already left me, so why stop?"

"Until one day, I received a call from an unknown number. The caller told me that the land, which was supposed to be for my mother, was planned to be sold by her siblings, and from there I knew my effort had a meaning."

"I bought the land, but my vision changed. From there, I started to dream. I told myself I would build my empire for my future wife and children. I will begin a new edition of my life in my empire. I will live with my family peacefully and comfortably in my empire. And most of it is to leave Seoul and the nightmare it causes me. As we slowly enter the boundaries of the land I brought, a group of people constructing the house is what we can see. As we were getting closer, two men came on our way. They waited until I fully parked the car, and when I did, one of them opened the door on Y/N's side.

"Good morning ma'am,"

The architect who I dealt with to design my house said. She also greeted him back and thanked him.

"I'm glad you came to visit Jimin,"

The other man said as he offered out his hand for a shake, which I gladly accepted. He is the engineer I dealt with for the construction.

"Yes, it's been a while."

I responded by approaching Y/N and wrapping my hand around her waist.

"Y/N, this is Mr. Bang, my architect, and this is Mr. Sung, my engineer. They've been here since day one of the construction to supervise for me while I'm absent. This is Y/N, my wife. "

I introduce her as my wife, which surprises her and causes her to look at me puzzled.

I excuse myself and Y/N from them so I can get to the main reason why we are here. I walked her to where she could fully view the place, especially the ongoing construction of the house, and asked her.

"Y/N, please look around you, the work has just begun. Please tell me if you are comfortable with what I am building and knowing where the money came from. If not, just say it and I will stop the construction and find another place wherever you want as long as you're comfortable being with me. "
