Divine Authority

Chapter 7: I'm here

   (Start music*)
    She gathered her strength and crouched low. She looked up at the hoard, with a deep breath, and flew up to meet them mid flight. She caught two by the legs and slammed them together. One aimed for her throat, she caught it's arm. Broke it and kicked it to the ground.
The second attempted to bite her leg, she knocked out its teeth with a quick punch. Ten, Twenty, Thirty, Forty, Fifty Entity's fell. But they just kept coming. She glanced down below, three of the entity's had slipped past her guard and were taking turns on top hitting the top of the shield. Every time they struck it flickered.
Damn. They must have gotten stronger. Nothing should be getting through that barrier.
    She knocked aside two Entity's that were attempting to knaw off her arms, then she dove for the ground. Each hit that the Entity's made she could feel the shield weakening.
Crap I won't make it in time!
     A group of Entity's tackled her hundreds of feet from the ground, she fell. The earth crumbled beneath her body. She forced herself to her feet, climbing out of the wretched hill of bodies she had created. More Entity's we're upon her.
      She swung left and right wading through the slimy creatures. On the shield she saw one massive slimy entity interlocking it's fingers to deliver another blow. It landed. The shield shuddered.
No!
    All she saw was black, there were too many of them. Through the field of beasts, and through the shield, she saw her friends expressions. They were screaming at her to hurry up. Damn it! There's too many.
Just as she was about to lose hope a strong mental voice said.
I'm here.
    Iris saw a black glint and the massive entity fell off the shield in two pieces. Time seemed to freeze. She looked to the figure standing above.
     It was a tall, thicker built, muscular man, with glowing ruby colored eyes. His black hair was long enough to just barely touch his brow. He was shirtless with black pants. In his left hand he held a shining onyx blade. Lucifer.
     She made eye contact with him. He smirked. His slightly pointed canines sparkled in the sunlight.

Out loud she shouted.
    "Shut up and help me!"
Battle resumed. Iris kicked hard and crunched a row of entities. She lost track of Lucifer in the battle, as far as she could tell he was all around her. Catching at killing any Entity's that escaped her grasp.
     After fighting for what felt like an eternity, she slew the final one. She took a step forward and tripped on a talon. She fell backwards, right as she was about to hit the ground she felt a strong warm arm wrap around her waist. She was lifted back to her feet.
    "You tired already?"
