Ten years passed by soon enough. After being homeschooled the vast majority of her life Iris's parents allowed her to attend a public school for her last two years of High school. She had gained many friends and made a few enemies. But her school experience was coming to a close. As far as training goes.
After working hard, she was finally granted the title of Guardian Angel. Despite whether she liked it or not, she was sworn to protect all of the human race. She begged God to allow her to kill the most annoying ones. But he refused sadly.
Finally she made it to the day before graduation. Her bright blonde hair had been cut to her shoulders, her muscles had become lean, as far as her height went. That's another story. Today she wore blue jeans and a black t-shirt and had a backpack slung over her shoulder. As she was walking down the hallway to her final class before lunch someone tapped her shoulder.
She nearly punched back as a reflex, but she restrained herself.
"Maya! I told you to watch it. I could have killed you!"
"Pfft..you say that every time Iris. And somehow I still haven't died."
Maya was a tall red haired haired and dark eyed girl. With a sharp tongue and an even sharper eye for detail.
"You excited! It's our last day of actual school school."
       "Yep, almost free!"
Iris smiled a genuine smile. Maya smirked.
"And somehow...we still don't have boyfriends. Now that's just sad."
"Meh, who needs them. We've made it this far haven't we. Good grades. Great personalities. Haven't wasted a drop of our skills. Now that's what's really amazing."
Maya shrugged.
"True true. But still, could totally picture you with some one tall, dark, and handsome. Maybe not a knight in shining armor, but black dull armor."
    Iris chuckled.
      "Whatever."
      "Whattup chicas!"
An arm looped through Iris's free arm and the other through Maya's.
"Where have you been Britt? I've been looking for you!"
"I've been saying my first of many final farewells. And people watching of course."
Britt was a short black haired girl, with a sweet personality. They together walked down the hallway.
     "See anything interesting?"
Iris said.
"Honestly not really, other than James and Sara breaking up."
Iris and Maya froze and blinked.
"What!? James and Sara broke up??"
Britt unlocked their arms and faced them.
     "Yup, crazy I know right!"
James and Sara were known as the most popular couple in their year. James was okay, but as far as Iris was concerned Sara was an ignorant mortal brat. Both last year and this year she had attempted to shame Iris for being homeschooled and for...
"You don't have a boyfriend. You poor sheltered thing."
She had said so often, in the most snide voice possible.
     "Well good riddance."
Iris said out loud.
"True that, but now I'm sure Sara and her gang will be looking for fresh meat."
Britt said. Maya laughed.
"Well at least we'll be at different colleges."
        "True that."
They entered the classroom.
