Me and Valen were preparing Joan for her date with Tae.
I had never seen her that nervous before. It was sort of a new experience for me as well as for Valen.
The girl couldn't stop asking questions about him and whether she really was a good match for him.
Typical Joan.
"Maybe I should tell him that I'm not feeling really well." She said as she bit her nails nervously.
Ugh.
"Come on, Joan. It's just a date and I'm sure you'll get along really well." I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest.
Valen rolled her eyes right before looking at Joan and letting her eyes trail from head to toe. I could tell that she was seconds away from grabbing her neck. In fact, she wanted to poke her eyes.
"You're just being paranoid and delusional...as always."
The girl was right. It was always hard to convince Joan to go on a date. But this time it was more different and special. We couldn't just give up.
"I don't know, it's just..." She spoke hesitantly, "Kinda nerve wracking."
"I can imagine how you feel. I really do. But it's gonna be alright. Trust me." I tried to comfort her, making her feel a little less nervous and far more calm.
"He'll like you a lot...hopefully." Valen mumbled the last term, quiet enough for Joan not to notice, but loud enough for me to give her a glare.
Shut up.
The two girls were polar opposites, giving each other hard times. It was always a new surprise every time they agreed on the same thing.
But isn't this what makes best friends to best friends?
Accepting each other's flaws and weirdness. The light and the dark within each other.
Appreciating the similarities and respecting the differences.
First, Joan paused, shaking her head in denial. But then she gave in, deciding to give it a try.
"You guys are right. I'm just gonna be myself and enjoy every minute of the date."
