CHAPTER TEN ~ Snob
"You really won't talk to me?" I asked with a flat tone for what seems like the millionth time to Zyler who was putting on his black leather shoes. His lips were on a thin line and his eyes were so distant as if he's lost in his own world, while his fingers did the expert work to tie his shoelaces.
He's been like this ever since he came to our cottage last night looking distress while he stopped a bunch of shrieking love-sick girls to come inside our room. Once he successfully shut the door, he released a sigh before his eyes met mine. He looked relieved for a moment but it was gone the moment it appeared and was turned into anger. I tried asking him what was the look all about but he just took off his shirt (something that made me instantly gawk on how god-like he is but will never admit) and slept as if I never existed.
I couldn't stand his silence, ironically, it was just so loud! Plus I was just getting use to him being so sweet but now that his being his old self, I wanted him to come back.
I didnt get why his mad. I thought of the night before and came up clueless as to why he's being this way. So after alot of wailing and calling and being pathetically ignored, I made the dangerous decision of coming up behind him on his bed and tackled his back to accomplish some kind of reaction.
Not a moment to soon he had manage to flip us over with his forearm on my neck, cutting of any oxygen that I so desperately need in a matter of 7 freaking seconds. I got a reaction alright.
Is this how Katniss felt when her eyes were almost ready to pop out from there sockets? God, I use to laugh so hard at that scene!
Zyler's silver eyes recognize mine for what seems like hours. Only then did he release me and I gasp for air like my life depended on it.
"You're fucking stupid you know that?" He seethed, standing up, his hands balled into fists.
I looked at him with a mixture of horror and weirdly, respect, "Where did you even learn to do that kind of move?!"
"Doesnt matter, I'm heading for breakfast." He muttered, making a bee line for the door.
I got up as fast as I can with a throbbing neck to catch up with him, "What a coincidence! So am I."
He only rolled his eyes. Once we were outside and was about to lock our door did I realize we forgot our key.
"Wait, I'm just gonna grab our keys." I said in a hurry before I took off. I snatch the keys from the coffeetable and locked the door. "Okay let's-"
I look around and saw that Zyler have already left without me. That jerk. I heave a sighed and went to the dinner hall.
The room was already packed with people, others were still in their pajamas some already dressed. My eyes scanned the room for Zyler but I couldn't find him, he was no where to be found.
"Looking for someone?" Said a voice behind my back. I turned around expecting Zyler smirking with mischief indicating that he was just messing around but instead I saw Axel smiling knowingly with the rest of the group.
Oddly, my smile vanished but I was keen to put it back up. I didn't want Axel to think that I dont want to see him.
"Yeah, I was just looking for you guys," I lied as he led me and the others to the vacant table at the back.
Once we were all settled in, the guys stood up and announced that they're going to get us some food. Chloe surprised me by giving me a hug as if we haven't seen each other for a month, "Good morning! Isn't this a lovely day?" I dont know where her energy came from but I'm pretty sure its close to drugs.
