CHAPTER FOURTEEN ~ Forgot

I woke up feeling soar and raw as the sun hit the floor of my bedroom. I groaned as I sit up but instead of wooden furnitures and cozy atmosphere I saw a more than familiar place. Wait... I'm suppose to be going home from the camping trip? Did I just skip that? Is that even possible? I immediately stood up and sure enough I'm in my own bedroom. Pictures scattered the wall, fairy lights hanging above my head, the same book shelves filled with trophies and novels. How did I came here?

As if the universe wanted to give me an answer, the door of my bedroom swung open and mom came in holding a tray with a bowl steam floating vertically on what I assume is a soup.

"Oh good you're awake." She said with a soft smile as she placed the tray on my lap. It wasn't soup, its hot chocolate. Why the hell would she put hot chocolate on a bowl. "How's your cheek? Does it still hurt?"

I almost forgot about that! My hand immediately move up to touch my cheek and felt four bandages on them. "Did you put these bandages?" I asked rubbing the sleep off my eyes.

"Yeah. They weren't too deep so it didn't require stitches. How did you get them anyway?"

When dad left us, my bond with mom only grew stronger to the point I practically tell her everything. She practically shriek like a school girl when I told her I got my first kiss and insist that I tell her everything after she take two tubs of Ben and Jerry's from the fridge. She slept over in my room after that.

And there's this one time where I told her that Tyler wanted to sleep with me and then she ran off before I could finish my story. I thought she got mad and that what I said was too far, but then she came back holding a box of condoms with a ribbon on top. She admitted slyly that she had been waiting for this moment a long time ago but thats when I told her I don't want to sleep with Tyler and she then got all emotional because she reasons that I knew to myself that I was suppose to give it to someone I love.

Unlike most of the parents, mom don't want me to be seen inside the house as much as possible. Instead she wants me to come back home with a luggage from a beach trip or several shopping bags.

But everything changed. Mom is a well-known doctor now meaning she has people needing her more frequently than me causing her to practically live in the hospital. Thinking about it, I think this is the first time in a long time I got to tell her about something in my life.

My crazy fucked up life that I love so much.

"A girl slapped me." I admitted with a sleepy smile as I munch on some buttered toast.

"Well did you slap her back? Tell me you slap her back cause I'm gonna slap her for you." She said with amusement dancing in her eyes but her voice is dead serious.

I remember one time when Tara got called in the principal's office because she's been accused of purposely hitting a girl. Mom knew the real thing that happened courtesy of Tara who never lie to mom. We never lie to mom simply because we don't need to. So when the meeting started she got all sassy and revealed secrets about the other party's parent. Being a doctor has its perks with her patients I guess - so long story short, the meeting ended a lot faster than anticipated and the mother of the girl who hit Tara was burned in embarrassment.

"Good parenting mom," I said through a mouthful.

She brush off my sarcastic remark, "Oh shush. So did you?"

I shook my head.

"Well did you punched her at least?"

I shook my head again.

"Oh I know! You ripped her hair off!"

"Mom! I didn't do anything. She's just hurt that I'm with the guy she loves so I let her be."
