Hi everyone ;)
Sorry it's been so long. I tested positive for covid and felt a bit under the weather.
But anyway, on to the story (where covid doesn't exist)!!! 🥳🤩😁

Ezra's POV:

Hera sighed for what seemed like the millionth time (probably was).

"Ezra Bridger. Will you just stay still for one moment? I'm trying to read my book about piloting and you're making me feel dizzy" she huffed with a fond smile.

"Oops. Sorry Hera, but did you hear that Kanan's-" I began, but was interrupted by Hera.

"Yes. Like I said the previous four times you've asked me in the last two hours" she smiled. "Why don't you go and see what Sabine is drawing in the kitchen?" She suggests. Probably trying to get rid of my constant chatter, which I'm not surprised about, I have been at it for... let's just say I've been at it for a while.

"Okay. See ya Hera" I sillily saluted before I made my way towards the kitchen. "If your going in there to draw... I wouldn't recommend it" Sabine stopped me.

I looked at her cluelessly. She smiled and shook her head. "Kanan's trying to fix the coffee machine" she said simply before jogging up the winding stairs.

Oh.

There was a crashing sound that instantly came from the kitchen. Following with yelling. I poked my head around the door farm to see Kanan shouting at the coffee machine.

"WHY CANT YOU BEHAVE, YOU BADLY DESIGNED KITCHEN UTENSIL?!!" Kanan's voice echoed down the hall.

"Maybe because it's a inanimate object that doesn't understand you?" I reply simply.

The red shade on his face pales, and a small smile Riggs on his lips. "You ready to go?" He asks.

"Yeah!" I pump my fist in the air, but my attention then turns to the broken machine on the floor. "But won't Hera be mad that you haven't fixed it?" I ask.

He stares from me to the machine, then back to me again, before shrugging nervously and and leading me out of the kitchen. "Just don't mention it" he whispers.

I smirk, "oh, don't worry. I won't need to. Hera will see it as soon as she walks in".

"Good luck you too" Hera says from the sitting room, and Kanan stiffens as Hera says. "Oh, and by the way Kanan... you're still fix the machine when you get back".

"How did you know?!" Kanan gapes.

"Do you honestly think I could hear you? The rooms are literally next door to each other" Hera replied.

"Fair point" Kanan pouts.

"And Ezra? I hope you find your friends" she finishes as we exit the house and enter the dark gloomy streets. The scent of the city air was something that I always miss when I am indoors.

"So... where do we look first?" Kanan asked me.

I smiled, "the base".

I lead Kanan through a few of my "shortcuts", although he wasn't the keen about travelling through peoples back gardens, and we eventually got to the fence.

I pulled my orange hood up, and led Kanan over the fence. I was expecting him to struggle like Sabine did on her first time, but he surprisingly made it look easy. I guess being a police officer taught him a few tricks? I would have no idea where else he would have learnt it from.

I turned toward the town, to see no Rebels, or anyone for that matter, it was quiet. Too quiet.

"Kanan. Somethings wrong. There not here" I tell him, and he gives me a worried glance. "What if the Imperials found them and-".

"Hey. That won't have happened. I'm sure there just hiding. After all, they were going into hiding weren't they" Kanan uterus me, and I sigh.

"I guess. But they should be here. It's a safe zone. Meaning that no one has ever found us here. Including you, so they had no reason to leave unless-".

"SSH! I heard something" Kanan interrupts me.

Screech...

Kanan slowly got his blaster out.

"Have you been carrying that, in your pocket, this whole time?!" I whisper madly at him.

He ignores me, and continues making his way over to where the sound was coming from. Once he was right by the corner of the HQ headquarters (the broken curtain doors), a white cat leapt out of it, and Kanan fell backwards and onto the floor with a screech.

"My hero" I sarcastically say and roll my eyes at Kanan, as the cat comes over to me and I stroke it.

"Where in the galaxy did that thing come from?!" Kanan asks as he gets up, and try's to act as if he didn't have that kind of reaction to a cat

"Where in the galaxy did that thing come from?!" Kanan asks as he gets up, and try's to act as if he didn't have that kind of reaction to a cat.

"I don't know. But I do know that the Rebels aren't here" I reply worriedly. "They had to have left for a reason. But they would have told me, so this doesn't make any sense".

"So... now what?" Kanan asks me.

The cat quickly leaps out of my arms and begins running away.

"After it!" I shout and begin chasing the white feline.

"And... we're chasing white cats now" Kanan rolls his eyes as he begins the pursuit for the cat. "So why are we chasing a cat?" He asks.

"It might know where the rest of the Rebels are" I reply.

Kanan gives me a dumbfounded look. "Ezra. It's a cat. Cats aren't that smart".

"Says the man who thought that the cat was a threat back at Tarkintown" I laughed.

"I was taking precautions!" Defended Kanan.

"sure... Hence, why you screamed" I teased.

"Can we stop taking about this?" He asks, turning red with embarrassment.

"Oh, I don't know... I'm just surprised that the Officer, who saved me from the dreaded Inquisitor, couldn't take on a cat" I joked and Kanan rolled his eyes fondly.

Kanan and I then continued to follow the cat through the bustling streets. Where we were going unknown, but I knew one thing for sure.

I was going to find my friends!
