Months had passed since Kendra Rayne and Cerion had defeated Agozud. The town of Wintergreen, where Kendra lived and defended, was more open towards accommodating for their giant hero. For example, a group effort made an umbrella large enough to cover the giant in the rain. It was meant for her to hold, so it was large and strong enough for her to hold without breaking it. It did not have a button to open, instead using a more manual mechanism.
In addition, the Church of Vividarenism made its entrance and walls taller, which also increased the height of the ceiling. This was so that Kendra could use it as shelter in case of a thunderstorm, as being over twenty seven feet tall meant that she didn't fit in most buildings. The Church building also installed a lightning rod to protect it and ensure that it would survive a lightning strike.
On July 21st, Kendra woke up to her dad, Reuben Rayne, hugging her nose. She had to sleep in the backyard due to not fitting in her home, so she slept on her side. He said, "Happy Hug a Giant Day, Kendra!"
Her mind was in the transition from sleeping to being awake, so she didn't realize what that meant at first. When she got up, she realized what day it was. She learned what Hug a Giant Day and Hug a Tiny Day both meant at a young age. Hug a Giant Day was meant for humans to hug giants.
She did not hug her father back because she feared that she would be too powerful and hurt or even harm him without even trying.
Sienna Rayne, the mother of Kendra, got to hug her giant daughter before she went to work. This time, Sienna got on her child's hand and hugged her thumb.
Kendra thought that human fingers touching her were an interesting sensation. They were so small compared to her, but each individual finger was clear and separate in terms of their touch. This kind of tickled.
Her boyfriend, Kai Cooper, hugged her pinky finger when she went to school. Even though some would consider Hug a Giant Day to be a holiday, it was not one that allowed a break from work or school. He said, "Do you know about Hug a Giant Day, Kendra?"
She looked at him and nodded. Unsure if he picked up on that, she asked, "Did you understand my body language?"
He replied, "Of course!"
