I woke up from the construction outside of my house. I rubbed my sore eyes before I looked out the window. I noticed the big yellow truck and men in fluorescent vests. I stood up and pulled down my gray t-shirt. I walked into the living room, noticing my mom wasn't home. I scoffed, looking in her empty, dirty room. I ran into the kitchen, heading towards the fridge. I noticed mom had left me a 5 for lunch and let the fridge empty. I opened the cabinet and grabbed a pack of chicken Ramen noodles. I threw them into a pan and let them cook as I got dressed. I put on a pair of black tights and a red sweatshirt. I tied my black hair into a braided bun in the back of my hair and slid on my glasses. I ran towards the half cooked Ramen, opened the flavor packet and poured it into the pan. I grabbed a bowl and put the steaming noodles into the bowl. I quickly ate the noodles before grabbing my bag and running toward school. Once I made it, I was completely out of breath. My first day in public school in 2 years and I show up nasty and sweaty. I walk toward my first period class, not acknowledging anyone around me. I arrived just as the bell rang and I opened the door. "Oh! Maddyson, is it? You can sit in the back, second seat," The teacher said.

I smiled and nodded heading toward the seat. I felt someone's foot hit mine then hear laughing and comments asking if I was 'slow' or something. I looked around at the shitty decor of the classroom. I whipped my text book, notebook and a pencil. I started jotting down notes before being sidetracked by the emptiness of my notebook. I started to draw stars and hearts before I saw a hand on my desk. I slowly look up to find my eyes meeting the teacher, "On your first day miss Dixon? Hand it to me," She says, opening and closing her hand.

"Mrs. Johnson, my notes are in here, see. I can't give you this without giving you my notes," I said with a half ass genuine look on my face.

"Then get a new notebook. I'll give it to you at the end of class," She said, stealing it off my desk.

I sat back and nodded, rubbing my tongue across my teeth. I crossed my arms, lied back and smiled at her. "Miss Dixon, get a new notebook," She said furrowing her brows.

"I actually don't have another one, so I can't really get a new one without having one can I?"

She looked so irritated, it made it so hard for me not to giggle. She stomped back and slammed my book back down before returning to the front of the glass. Before I walked out of class, I saw another hand on my desk. This time, it was more of a man's hand. He had a lot of bulky rings on. I looked up at him, "Don't tell me you want my notebook too," I said smiling at his attractive face.

"Haha, not unless you have a different one," He said laughing, "I'm Eddie," He said, sticking his hand out for me to shake.
"I'm Mads, or Maddy. Whichever you prefer Eddie," I said, shaking his hand.

"Well Mads, I hope to see you around more often," He said leaving me with a friendly grin.

I blushed lightly before jumping up and heading myself to the bathroom.
