Amari and Malik were fighting over something when Charlie made his way next to them. Xene looked annoyed, but he was busy loading the musket that Malik had brought over. Malik didn't stop him, since he and everyone else there knew that Xene was the smartest and well knowledge person there.
"Give me that back!" Amari snatched a wrinkled piece of paper from her brother, turning around so he couldn't snatch it back. He yelled in annoyance at her. "You don't even know how to use a map! So leave it to me, plus I made this."
"But I have nothing to do!" He motioned to Xene, who had his fathers musket.
"Sucks to be you huh?" Amari countered back. Malik yelled back at her, they continued their bickering while Xene turned to Charlie who had stopped to observe the twins. Xene seemed to be regretting his decision.
Charlie turned to him, ignoring the two like they were doing to him. "You sure you wanna go through with this?"
Xene sighed, pulled up his cloak coat. "There's no going back now."
Alright, fair enough. Charlie thought. He didn't want to talk or stop the twins, he wasn't exactly close to them unlike he was with Xene. Xene on the other hand was close with everyone close to his age, he knew everyone there. He also had more authority over the three, so when he had moved to separate them they didn't fight back. "Enough with this. Charlies here."
The two finally looked over at the blonde boy who still had his usual red cloak on with his hood up. Malik seemed to recognize him. "Oh, it's the girly boy everyone's been mentioning about!"
Charlie made a face when being called that. Amari shoved him, "you mean all the single men!" She clarified, she then looked over at Charlie, who was very uncomfortable at the moment. "They think you're a girl, cause... Well of the hair y'know.""But don't worry, we won't tell anyone about you!" Malik said. His voice was a bit too loud for everyone's liking again. His sister shoved him, telling him to lower his voice. He grumbled but stayed silent.
"Now that's all over with. Let's get going." Xene finally said. He gave Malik back the musket before turning to Charlie. "You lead the way first."
Charlie nodded, walking in front of the three he led the way down the usual path he took to his grandmother's cottage. They were making their way there, having Malik and Amari fighting in the background. Their bickering was annoying Charlie, but he hid it instead and decided to focus on Xene, and more of his "plans".
But Xene stayed silent as well, he was surveying around him, looking for signs of something. Most likely the wolf. "Are we at the place you saw the print?" Xene suddenly asked, pulling Charlie to look back at him.
Charlie, in turn, looked around at his surroundings, seeing if he was reminded of that encounter. But it was a bit further down the path from where they were. He took that in account, voicing it out to Xene, he looked back to the twins who were busy fighting over the map again. "Amari! Where are we on the map? And stop trying to take it from her Malik, your only job is with the gun."
He ordered them, they listened by doing what was said. Him being the next leader of the town, he seemed to be made for the role. While they were continuing to walk, Charlie wasn't reminded of anything yet, he just had a deep fear inside him that the wolf would jump out in front of them. But it didn't. Nothing came out of them while they made their way to Lorans house. The twins were now silent, just like Xene. No one made a sound, they were just following Charlie hoping that he could give them a word about the wolf so they could do something. So the silence went on, it was making Charlie even more uneasy since he knew people were watching him. He could tell that Xene was starting to doubt him about the wolf.
