It had been weeks. Too long of the time that the wolf was getting more than worried.
Where was he? Where is Charlie? Had he left me? Was he in danger?
The thoughts clouded the wolves instincts. He should be focusing on the pack, the other wolves he had formed a life with through a generation, but he couldn't help but think of the human.
Lazarus was still half human, his wolf side was much more overbearing and overtaking, the only thing that could bring the human inside of him out was Charlie. Now the blonde boy seemed gone. The wolf even tried to meet up or surprise him during the path he took, but he could only smell him faintly or not at all. The human was purposely missing him.
The wolf didn't know if he should feel angry or hurt. The pack members looked down at the large male in worry, the beasts could smell that the normal human scent the wolf had was faintly there. The guess could be that the wolf stopped seeing the boy, knowing that they became concerned, yet giddy.
The alpha female tried to comfort him, but Lazarus rejected the offer, growling lightly at the animal's eyes piercing him. He had gotten used to them, the fear he used to feel subsided long ago. Instead of being trashed and pushed around in the pack, the wolves respected him as if he was the alpha male. He was anything but that, stating how he had no interest in mating.
Maybe the "respect" they have was fear. He was bigger, and overall smarter than them. He could use his shifting and bigger frame to kill anything quickly, it earned him a good spot so that the pack could eat.
Even with the respectful life he has as a beast, he missed the human so much. When he thought back to the blonde, his tail would wag, his ears would flatten and a pounding would enclose the inside of his heart. He couldn't tell what the feeling was, but he could guess it was love. Something humans feel.
Would Charlie even feel the same? How could a human love a beast man like Lazarus? That would be impossible. Well, the wolf boy wouldn't know if he didn't ask the boy himself. Yet the boy hasn't shown himself for weeks.
The worry was overbearing, the wolf wouldn't even eat, he gave his side to the pups, taking off in search for a familiar smell. He was tempted to go over to the village, that was where the familiar smell was. Would Charlie be angry with them if he caught the wolf? There were risks of course, however, the wolf wasn't the smartest using his human brain, so he went off in search of the human at his village.
( With Charlie... )
The boy felt empty. It was a weird feeling that he hasn't had in a long time. He was extremely sad when Ruth was killed, now it feels like it happened all over again. He felt like he lost someone important to him.
Lazarus...
The wolf boy was important to him and now he lost him. He felt lost, he didn't want to be with anyone, not like he could since everyone was avoiding him. He was still banned from seeing Xene. So he was alone now because he couldn't see Lazarus.
The boy was sometimes tempted to run off in search for the wolf, disobeying his father. But something held him back. He didn't want to hurt the man that raised him even if he was missing the wolf.
All the blonde could do now that he had stayed at the village when not at Lorans was chop wood. He always did this but it got tiring quickly. Nothing fun filled his heart, he just felt empty and bored. Also watched. Every move he made, he felt someone was constantly staring at him.
It was eerily, he decided to ignore the feeling, convincing himself it was paranoia. Turns out it wasn't just fear, he was really being watched. The older men that had kept their eyes on him finally decided to make a move when the blonde boy was alone behind the bakery.
