Charlie promised the wolf boy the truth. After leaving his father thought of nothing suspicious. Nothing has changed from that day while Charlie could go out every morning to feed his grandmother then leave early to spend time with his old friend in the forest. It was weird at first, but Charlie can grow accustomed to weird events and deal with them.

A difference would seem that Loran grew somewhat apart from the boy. He would leave early everyday instead of spending time, or even speaking no more than 2 words with the old widow. She had shooed him off a few times but now she wanted him to say, to tell stories with. Charlie declined the offer and went off to spend time with the wolf boy.

Something back at the village has been brewing up as well. Xene has been getting ready for his wedding that is happening next Friday. He wanted Charlie to be there, yet he couldn't meet up with him since it seemed like Charlie was always gone. Xene could get worried about the boys long time out in the forest.

No one knew about why the red cloaked boy so confidently went out into the wolf infested forest everyday for such a long time. Xene had been wanting to get the chance to speak with Charlie, he asked Martis when he would return and to point the boy in his direction. So he just waited outside his home where all his nicknacks and drink business was.

He had gotten bored doing nothing so he went out to feed some of the stray cats while waiting. It took longer than the man would have liked but Charlie finally showed up strolling over to him in usual red cloak.

Excitement sprawled through Xene. He was so excited to finally explain and ask Charlie to be there for him. Charlie walked over, a small smile on his face when greeting the mayor's son. He greeted him back, quickly getting into his request. "As you know, I am soon to be wed this Friday..." He stiffly yet proudly stated.

"Yeah, I almost forgot about it. How exciting!" Charlie smiled widely when thinking about it, getting excited just at the thought.

Xene was just as thrilled to see his friend's happy reaction. He was also a bit sad to hear that Charlie almost forgot about his special day. He didn't want to be thinking too much into it. The older boy did know that Charlie's father got sick and had to do all the work himself so he can't blame the boy for almost forgetting.

"I would like you to be front center for it Charlie." Xene hesitantly asked.

Charlie looked baffled with the request. Why would the most popular boy in this village want him to be in the front for his wedding? It did make Charlie extremely happy to have a friend like Xene. The mayor's son was popular and good at everything, he was friendly and always there to support and help. So it shouldn't be a surprise on why he was being so kind to Charlie in his request.

Quickly, Charlie accepted the request. Promising his presents in his wedding. Xene was extremely happy to hear the acceptance, he happily jumped up and down talking nonsense on his plans on how the wedding will be prepared. The red cloaked boy just watched, nodding his head with a bright smile on his face, a few thoughts crossing his mind.

After Xene was finished with his speaking, Charlie went back to his home. He had to leave Lazarus early since his father said Xene requested to speak with him. He felt bad for leaving the wolf boy alone again, the big puppy always looked so wounded when Charlie would leave.

The thoughts closing in on the boy's mind were becoming a lot to keep in. He wanted the wolf boy to be with him during a big day. He wanted Lazarus to feel happy when with other people. He was still part of this "home" even when looking so different. The wolf boy never actually hurt anyone before, never harmed a human.

It was this Friday, Charlie could speak with Lazarus about it tomorrow and convince him to join. Maybe he could, he still had to figure out a way to let the boy who was almost 7 feet tall blend in, having not only his height but his ears and tail. His whole lower body if that. But Charlie had a few ideas prepared.
