You must have been lying there for at least ten minutes afterwards, tracing the features of his face with your fingertips and eyes, occasionally twirling one of his curls around your fingers. His hand is on your side, and your legs are still intertwined.

He didn't complain once or question you, he just let you, but you feel obliged to explain, "I never want to forget this, not ever," you say quietly, your eyes still following his every detail.

He sighs, grabs your hand, and puts it on the middle of his chest. You can feel his heart pounding against your fingertips. His eyes look nervously into yours, and he sighs again.

"I..." He starts and then immediately looks down, a slight frown on his face as he swallows, "I have to tell you something, but I'm worried you'll freak out" his eyes move between your eyes and your hands.

"You can tell me anything. I won't freak out, I promise," you say, giving him a small kiss.

He attempts to pull you in closer, his hand moves to your bare back. It's almost like he wants nothing between your bodies at all, your hands still trapped with his between you both.

"I barely know anything about you, but I want to, I want to know everything. I don't think I've ever been so sure of something in my whole fucking life," he says quietly, scanning your face for a reaction.

You smile and shake your head, looking back into his waiting gaze, "Are these your thoughts, or are you just stealing mine?" His nervousness melts away, and he smiles wide, pulling you in for an emotionally charged kiss, his hands gripping onto yours.

As your lips part, he utters, "I fuckin' love you", he says shakily.

You look directly into his eyes and hold the side of his face, "And I am entirely in love with you too," you whisper.

He looks happy but also like he might burst into tears, "Hey now," you say, gently stroking his hair and pulling him into your chest.

"I'm happy, I am, but I'm just so fucking scared too, you know? Not just about those things, but if...I don't know...if I fuck up...or your do...or if this has to end...or if I go on tour and you go to college...or worse if I can't give you everything you need."

You keep stroking his hair, "Eddie, my sweet. Slow down. I adore you. We'll work out things as they happen. That's life." You take his face in your hand, and he leans into your palm, "Please, for me, don't let the negative voices dampen your smile. It's one of my favourite things in the entire world-"

There is a knock at your door, "I just brought you, kids, some breakfast", you hear your Mom say. As you both nearly jump out of your skin. You look at one another, laugh and then shout in unison, "Thanks, Mom."

Eddie grins over at you, his eyes twinkling, and kisses you again. You grab your robe and go collect your food. Your Dad walks past on his way downstairs, "Eddie, my lad, you'll never make it as a Ninja."

You can hear your Dad's booming laugh as he goes downstairs. You shake your head in disbelief. Why was he so different with Eddie? He'd been furious about Trent, like banging on the door yelling at the top of his lungs, enraged.

You pick up the massive food tray and place it on the bed.

Eddie's eyes go wide, "What is all this? Are those pancakes? Bacon? Is this what you have for breakfast every day?" He says, picking up pieces of food and looking under them.

You giggle, "No, honey, I think my mom went all out for some reason."

Eddie picks up a pancake, loads it with eggs, bacon and maple syrup, and eats it like a taco, "It's so good", he says with his mouth full.
