You sit in your usual seat next to Dawn and start apologising before she can move away, "Hey Dawn, I just wanted to say how sorry I am about in the cafeteria yesterday. I just got mad because I found something that made me happy, and I felt your concerns were taking it away from me. So I reacted badly, and I'm sorry."

You set up your desk and wait for the response, but one doesn't come. So you try again.

"I'm not asking for permission, and I'm not asking for you to be his buddy. So please don't make this an us or them thing when it doesn't need to be. And you know what if in the end I'm wrong, you get to say I told you so forever, ok?" You're trying to utilise Eddie's teachings here, but maybe you just don't have his charisma.

"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have been so mean and thoughtless" she sounds a little shaky.

You reach out for her hand, "Hey, it's ok, let's draw a line under it, yeah? I wanted to know one last thing, was it you that called the cops?"

She looks genuinely confused. "Call them about what? What could I call them up to say about Eddie that hasn't already been said?"

"Then maybe if we do talk about Eddie, we just keep it between you and me. Someone tried to get him arrested yesterday. I'm not trying to accuse anyone. I'm just saying I only told you, and if you didn't call the cops, someone who heard us might have." You say kindly.

"Yeah, maybe it's one of those things we just shouldn't talk about?" She offers.

It pained you a bit because you wouldn't be able to be excited about this with someone else, but at least it was amicable, and that meant you didn't have someone else working against you at every turn. You are sure that Dawn would grow to like Eddie eventually, but at this point, it was just about keeping this drama free. "Ok, sure, I won't talk to you about it."

Dawn smiles at you, and you feel a weight lifted from your shoulders.

The lunch bell rings, and you spot a familiar silhouette of hair outside the door. You grab your things quickly and hurry to him, "Hey you", you beam at him as he holds out his hand as if asking you to dance. You accept excitedly but suddenly lose your footing as he quickly pulls you into him. You land awkwardly, your chest plants against Eddie's and your face ends up over his shoulder.

"Got any plans for lunch, my lady?" He purrs in your ear.

You shake your head in a No. You'd answer verbally, but you just want to be lost in this feeling for a second or two.

"Well, that's settled then, come with me," he says in your ear softly, dragging you away with him, your heart pounding nervously.

You arrive at the van and think to yourself, Unfinished business, but as he opens the van door for you, it's evident very quickly that Eddie had been teasing you.

You accept the fact you had been got, looking up at a group of hellfire shirts that were looking back, whilst Eddie mischievously smiles at you.

You lean over to him, "I see what you did here", and then turn back to the group, "Hey all of you, so nice to finally put names to faces. I'm Y/N" you extend your hand up towards them and one of the grasps it, ok pulling you up into the van. Eddie jumps in after you.

You spend lunch getting to know some of Eddie's friends. They all seemed really lovely, especially the Corroded Coffin members. They tell you about changes to their set list, mentioning bands you've only heard of by name but have no clue what it sounds like until Jeff says something you do know.

"Eddie says we need to add a new Slayer song to the set. Well, it's not new. It's one of their old ones but new to us to play, you know?"

You smile to yourself and tap the beat out on Eddie's thigh, who spins around from the Tupperware box he currently has his head in. "The first track from the Show No Mercy Album? Is it?"
