7. Mr & Mrs Reign

Today will be my first day back at work since the incident. I have no idea what to expect with Sebastian, but I know he'll be in today.

I walked into the office, going straight to my desk. Lenny's old office door was shut so I'm guessing Sebastian's in there.

"Alex" my co-worker Eva whispered from the cubicle across from me. "Give us the details about our new boss"

People around us turned their attention to me. New boss, already? Are they talking about Sebastian?

I hummed, about to speak before the office door opened. Everyone went straight back to work beside me who looked up at Sebastian.

He looked around the room before meeting eyes with me. I expected a smile or at least a wave but his face remained expressionless.

"Alexandra, can you join us when you're ready?" his voice was stern and authoritative.

Us? So, there is a new boss. I guess he's just being professional; he needs to me.

Once he disappeared back into the office, Eva raised her brows at me.

"Sorry guys, I have no idea" I excused myself, standing up from the chair.

Footsteps approached, making me turn around to see Nico who held his blazer instead of wearing it. A more casual approach.

I expected him to act the same way Sebastian is right now. Maybe the new boss isn't supposed to know about my friendship with the Reign brothers.

"Alex" Nico beamed, opening his arms before embracing me.

Once we pulled away, he looked down at me weirdly then to the office. He tilted his head, peeking in before tensing up.

"What the fuck is she doing here" he muttered, shaking his head.

I looked in the same direction as him, stunned to see a young and beautiful woman. So beautiful. Could she be Nico's ex-girlfriend? It would explain his reaction.

"I'm supposed to go in" I cleared my throat, patting his arm before walking away.

He followed me, easily catching up to me and opening the door.

I stood by the door, watching as Sebastian and the woman looked at Nico.

"Dominic, pleasure to see you again" she smiled, extending a hand.

Again. They do know each other. But she went for a handshake, I don't think they had a history.

He ignored her, turning to his brother with a serious look on his face.

"I can come back later" I spoke up, gesturing to the door.

Everyone turned to me, shaking their heads.

"It's business Dominico" Sebastian warned, exchanging glares.

He used Nico's full name. The tension in the room almost become suffocating.

I walked toward them, glancing between the two as they stepped back. "I'm Alexandra Hood, it's nice to meet you"

The woman looked at the men stunned, shaking my hand.

"Sorry, I'm Freya Hill. Your new boss I guess" she smiled sweetly.

She was so nice, so sweet. What could have possibly happened with her for Nico and Sebastian to act this way?

There was a commotion outside, interrupting whatever was going on in this office.

Nico leant against the wall, scoffing lightly. "Lord have mercy"
