Nico shifted in bed beside me, sitting up against the headboard. He traced shapes on my arm, smiling down at me.
"I think there's a family reunion happening downstairs" he whispered as if they could hear us.
Pots and pans clattered from the kitchen meaning Luca, Evans and Nate were up to something.
I shut my eyes, soaking in this moment with him. It was just us, alone. No drama, no Maury moments, just pure peace.
"I never really understood the concept of art galleries, why people would want to look at something. I get it now"
My cheeks heated up immediately, betraying my attempt to remain calm. He always made me feel so giddy.
I sat up, straddling his lap as we both laughed. He rested his head against the headboard, hands on my waist.
His eyes shined a little brighter today.
Our eyes lingered, not wanting to break contact. I smiled, tilting my head. He lifted his head up, lips inches away from mine.
"What are you doing?" he whispered, pulling me closer.
I shrugged, placing my hands on his chest. "nothing, love"
My lips grazed against his before pulling myself off him, walking away despite how much I wanted to stay.
He followed me downstairs, swiping his thumb against his jaw as we reached the kitchen. His eyes stayed on me, smiling with defeat.
My mum and Cameron were in the kitchen cooking whilst Nate, Luca and Evans sat on the couch. I noticed redness on Nate's head, squinting my eyes at the three of them.
"Nathaniel, Luca, Evans" I greeted, seeing their lips curl into a mischievous smile.
"Nothing happened" they said in sync, holding back laughter.
I shook my head at them, standing by the counter. Nico was talking to Sebastian, disappearing toward the front foyer.
"Good-morning Alexandra" Sara and Cameron said in sync, smiling at me.
They looked like a married couple, parents. This is what life could've been like without Andrew. As nice as things could have been, I wouldn't trade this life for anything. Everything worked out in the end and I met him; Dominico Reign.
"Morning mum, Cameron" I smiled, turning to the sound of more voices.
Heels clicked, walking around the corner. Ashley and Nicolas Reign holding floral and edible arrangements.
"Alexandra, darling how are you?" they beamed, hugging me. Both of them.
I smiled, looking at Ashley with slight confusion. Mr Reign was his usual self, greeting everyone and ruffling his sons' hair.
"Right, you've met my mother, Sara. This is Cameron Wolff... my biological father. It's a long story"
Shock filled the Reigns' eyes, slowly nodding to process what I had just told them.
Nico wrapped his arm around my waist, kissing the side of my head. "I promise tomorrow will just be you and I"
Him and I alone, with nothing to worry about, no one interrupting us. It was perfect and exactly what I needed.
Eating breakfast altogether was awkward, hilarious and far from kind. Nate, Luca and Evans debated over which Teen Wolf character they were, and I was still getting used to Mrs Reign's kindness.
Nico's parents left to deal with business, as well as Sebastian with the new office. Nate had school so he left with mum, leaving Cameron, Luca, Evans, Nico and I.
