"General?" the voice of a man said, I turned around to see a young teenage boy, amazement evident on his face.

He recognizes me but I can't recognize him, who is he?

"It's me, Haruto!" he said cheerfully, taking a few steps closer to me

"Haruto? Haruto from 1894?" I said in confusion, I couldn't recognize him because the last time I saw him, he was just a little boy. He just agreed excitedly

"ARE YOU- A shinigami?" I exclaimed, I was beyond confused.

Based on what I know, Shinigamis don't remember their life before becoming the gods of death, so how come Haruto remembers his?

"I'm so happy to see you again, General," he said while sitting down on the couch near me.

I was still baffled by what was going on, yes, he's younger than me but it's been a hundred years, I thought he already died because that's what I saw when I read his future- he was going to die from an illness at a young age.

"I'm glad to see you but what are you doing here? I mean how? Your fate was supposed to be short- you were supposed to die young," I stated, he was just chuckling

"I did, I died when I was 18 but now I'm forever 18," he said but it still didn't give me clarity

"But what are you now?" I asked, I was also curious on what can a pure and innocent boy like him possibly do to be punished like me

"As a god yourself, you know the story of the matchmaker, right?" he said, I simply responded yes

"I'm the matchmaker," he revealed, my mouth hung open in shock.

It was evident that he, himself, wasn't proud of what he had become because for us gods, to be a god is more like a curse, it meant we did something gruel in our lives, and I know what he did, but he doesn't deserve to be judged by it all his life.

"But the rumors that go around say that you can't be seen by the human eye, how did you make reservations with my housekeeper?" I inquired

"Oh that's why rumors aren't called facts. The truth is, I can indeed be seen by human sight but I choose the people who can see my true self, but at times, like when I'm buying groceries, I disguise myself as an old man or other forms far from my true self. I am completely out of sight or invisible when I'm doing godly works," he explained, I only listened to him intently

"How about you, General? What happened and how have you been?" he asked,

"Well, I'm alive and undying. And I'm 124 years old," I said,

"Damn," Haruto responded almost immediately, and he also immediately apologized when he saw my offended look

"You are now the God of what, exactly?" he inquired again

"I am now the Time-Keeper," I replied,

His eyes widened then he immediately got off his seat and kneeled on both knees on the ground as if bowing for a god.

"Get off your knees, we're both gods here," I said as I tried to pull him up to his feet

"The time-keeper should be the most respected god among us gods, you dueled with the creator himself," he stated, insisting on bowing before me

"At first I thought you were a shinigami because you couldn't recognize me," he admitted when he stood up, it made me scoff

"I'd rather die than become one of those annoying devils," I said, it both made us laugh slightly
