We arrived at the palace it was around noon I was following right behind Miss Grayson once we got inside we stopped "good evening Miss Mel" me and Miss Grayson both bowed "good evening you two I'm assuming that you're Eric" I was shaking but reply "yes ma'am" we both stood up and I noticed behind Miss Mel was the princess she looked terrified "i'm glad miss Grayson told me you would be the best for this position" I gave her a quick nod

as she turned around and got down on one of her knees "(y/n) sweetheart everything will be fine Mr. Eric over there is going to be taking care of you he won't let anything happen to you" I looked over to Miss Grayson to see her machine for me to go on ahead I went up the stairs and got down on both of my knees "hello there Miss (y/n) I'm not gonna hurt you I promise" I held both of my hands up so she could see both of them she looked back over to Miss Mel "I promise he's not gonna hurt you" she gave her a simple nod "you can stand back up Mr. Eric" I quickly did so and started to fiddle with the hymn of my sleeve "I will let you to get to know each other (y/n) try to get to know him" Miss Mel started to make her way down the stairs " i'll be back later on today behave you two"

and with that both Miss Grayson and Miss Mel was gone I look down at the small child beside me "so umm what do you want to do" she looked up at me I could tell that she was still shaking but she turned around and started to head off I quickly realized this and started to follow her she stopped by a corner until I caught up with us and then she started to walk off again I could tell that she was very nervous and so was I to be honest

she did remind me a little bit of me when I was younger my parents used to say that I would wait for them by a corner of the house and then start walk off before they could catch me like I was trying to hide something I kept following her until we got to a room she turned around and pointed by the door I stood where she pointed as she open the door and went inside 'I'm guessing that's her room and I'm guessing she wants me to stay out here that's fair'

a few hours has gone by since she went in there a couple of times I wanted to go in and check but I don't want to be rude it was getting late in the day Miss Mel wasn't back yet I was just standing out here I did walk back-and-forth for a little bit thinking Miss Grayson did tell me she was skittish and she doesn't really trust any enforcer I don't know why but I don't know what happened to her to be honest I did notice her leg was wrapped I don't know what that's from so I can only imagine

I was interrupted by yelling it was come from the room I immediately bust open the door looking around the room I saw Miss (y/n) in the corner of the room she looks terrified shaking nonstop I looked over the room for something until I saw it on the desk

it was a rat I don't blame her they terrified me as well I always hated those creatures as well I took out my gun and pointed it at the rodent I 'can't missed the shot' was one of the things was going through my head I looked over at miss (y/n) to see that she was sitting on the ground shaking hiding she was also holding her arm for some reason I shook my head and looked back over to the desk I took in a deep breath as I double checked my aim this time the rodent wasn't moving it was just standing there hissing I took another deep breath as I made sure my aim was on point and shot the gun and for the first time it actually hit my target I was going to celebrate before I looked over to see that she was even more terrified I put the gun back on my belt and went over I got down on both of my knees and started to calm her down

"hey it's all right it's gone now it's not gonna hurt you" I will closer to see that there was a scratch mark on her "oh no you did get hurt stupid stupid I should've got in here faster" I didn't have any on me to wrap her arm or anything to help with it so I thought of the next best thing I tore off one of my sleeves and took her arm she looked up at me with tears in her eyes afraid "hey it's all right I'm not gonna hurt you not at all" I wrapped her arm and put it back down "see I just wanted to get that wrapped up you're not breeding and it doesn't seem you get bit so I don't think it would get infected but we should check just to make sure maybe we-"

I was caught off guard by her wrapping her arms around me make me fall backwards a little bit and her sobbing in my chest I quickly put my arms around her rubbing circles on her back trying to calm her down "hey hey it's all right now it's gone it's not gonna hurt you" in that moment of time she reminded me of my little sister whenever she would've got a nightmare she would cling on to me

I kept miss (y/n) in my arms as she started to calm down after a couple of minutes she fell asleep and I heard some people running in and immediately stop I looked behind me to see Miss Mel Miss Grayson and some other enforces "what happened here" I looked down at the sleeping child in my arms I stood up and walked over to her bed and putting her down

I step aside the bed and look towards them "you see Madame there was a rodent in here on Miss (y/n) desk I think it scared her and the rodent did scratcher her you don't have to worry anymore the thing is dead I shot it in the head and we might want to get her arm checked out just in case but right now she's asleep" Miss Mel came over to the bed as I stepped away looking at her daughter "you shot it you always had a problem with your aim" I saw Miss Grayson walking over to the desk and pick the thing up holding the thing up by its tail "yes ma'am in that moment of time the only thought that came to my mind was to protect her" miss Grayson motion for me to follow her outside which I did she threw the rodent outside a window as miss Mel followed after us we stood outside of miss

"I have to say I'm impressed for one you shooting the gun properly and second you handled that situation well" I had my hands behind my back as I gave her a simple nod "I have to say I'm impressed as well" I looked at Miss Mel confused "you see (y/n) is very scared around enforces because of what happened to her that injury on her leg was from one of them she got shot I know there's more stuff but she's terrified of them even the ones around the palace she knows that they're not gonna hurt her but she's always so skittish around them whatever she sees them she hides I was surprised to see her clinging onto you"
