Last summer was traumatic to say the least. We were at moms beach house like we were every year- me, my Mum, my older brother Jake and his best friend Abraham- Abe to us.

I'd just got back from a walk down the beach and I could hear muffled laughs coming from inside my bedroom.

"I wish Abe knew how much I love him" Jake said.

"Stop bro, thats clearly private" it was Abe.

"Well she shouldn't have left it lying around"

I swung the door open as aggressively as I could and Jake dropped my diary on the floor in shock.

"What are you doing?!" I almost yelled.

"Looking for the keys that you hid" Jake sassed me.

"Hid?!" I snapped. "They're right here!" I stormed over to my dressing table, grabbed the keys and launched them in his direction.

"Thanks!" Jake caught them and smirked, before running out of my room leaving me and Abe. I looked everywhere but at him.

"Sorry we read your diary, I tried to get him to stop" he picked it up from the floor and handed it to me.

"Oh it's fine. I wrote that when I was like 14" I lied, hoping they didn't pay any attention to the dates. I had only written that page a few hour ago.

Abe let out a small sigh of relief. "Oh thank god, you're literally like my sister."

I gave him a fake smile. "Yeah I had a crush on you when I was younger, but I'm so over it".

"Great" Abe said awkwardly and shuffled out of the room.

I picked up a pillow from my bed and screamed into it.
