Summer wound to a close way too quickly. We were back at Dad's house in LA, eating In'N'Out trying to avoid packing the last of my stuff.

"You sure you want to drive me all the way to New York?" I asked Abe, unsure.

"Of course I do. I'd do anything to spend more time with you" he said, feeding me a fry, but I had long lost my appetite. "Eat something, we've got a long drive".

"I know" I stuck my bottom lip out and took in my surroundings. I was going to miss this. I was going to miss In'N'Out too. The LA sunshine. Everything.

We set off just after 2pm, all my bags squished into the back and boot of Abe's car. We didn't let go of each other for the first section of the drive, as we slept in the motel for the night, ate breakfast and only let go when we pulled up outside my dorm in New York.

"You ready?" He asked as we both stared up at the building.

"Just give me a minute" I said, trying to steady my breathing.

"You're going to love it here, you're going to flourish, you're going to be the next Dan Humphries ok?"

I nodded uncertainly.

"I promise, it's going to be the best time of your life" he kissed me on the top of the head and steered me towards the registration desk to collect my keys.

After what felt like forever shuttling back and forth between the car and the dorm room, everything was in. My roommate hadn't moved in yet, so we made the bed and best use of the privacy, falling asleep afterwards.

Abe nudged me softly to wake me.

"Baby, I have to go" he said quietly, nuzzling my neck.

"Don't" I begged.

"It's getting dark. I'll call you when I get to the motel ok?"

I nodded and latched on to him for a minute more.

"I love you" he said. For the first time ever.

"I love you too" I said back, kissing him.

My roommate Eliza turned up the next day, she was a blast in a glass, standing at 5ft with a mild drinking problem, we got up to all sorts of mischief.

"Where you at?" Abe asked on FaceTime.

"A party, you?"

"Still? It's 4am! I'm in bed" he yawned and closed his eyes. "Be safe".

"I will, love you"

"Love you" he said, hanging up.

Abe and I didn't talk as much the first two months as I was busy settling in, partying and making friends. I forgot he was even meant to visit until the day before he was coming.

"Will you be meeting me at JFK?" He asked on the phone.

"When?"

"Tomorrow...don't tell me you forgot?"

"Of course not." I lied. "What time do you land?"

"11am".

It was time to stop being selfish.

"Abey!!!!" I threw myself on him the minute he came into the arrivals hall, wrapping my legs round his waist and kissing all over his face.

"You missed me?"

"Of course I did" I kissed him once more for good measure. "You hungry?"

"Always" he said laughing.

"Good, I know a good place for brunch" and we walked hand in hand to the metro.

"These your friends?" Abe looked at Eliza disapprovingly, who was grinding all over some boy.

I nodded. "Be nice".

"I am nice" he threw back. "You don't dance on me like that" he said, moving his hands to my waist.

"If that's what you want..." I said and I began to grind on him, much to his enjoyment.

"Okay, let's go to bed now. It's been 3 months".

He was right, 3 months too long.

After a fun filled week in NYC, I flew back to LA with Abe to meet Jake and fly to the UK for Christmas.

"Who's this?" I asked Jake, eyeing up girl on his arm.

"This is Mina- my girlfriend"

"Does mom know she's coming on this trip?" I eyed him suspiciously.

"No, but I'm sure it'll be fine!" He didn't look convinced as we walked down the aisle to our seats.
