As usual, the hotel was crowded. Valet was no problem for Daniel to pass through. When they landed, Maria excused herself to use the bathroom, and he phoned the manager of the hotel to make it abundantly clear that he did not want anyone to admit they were familiar with him. Maria would hear everything from him, but this weekend wasn't the right time. Everything else took a back seat because he had vowed to be there for her this weekend. The front desk clerk was watching her team intently from behind and the valet manager gave him a knowing smirk.

He was grateful for the effort they had made to conceal his identity. A difficult aspect was keeping his father in the dark about everything. He was aware that every Tuesday was conference call day for the hotel managers from all of their facilities. There shouldn't be a problem as they arrived on Thursday night and were departing on Sunday. All he had to do was remember to notify his dad when he returned to town.

"What a place, can you believe it? Never before have I seen a hotel this luxurious, I believe."

"Luxurious?" As they stepped into the glass elevators that would take them to the top floor's suites, Daniel murmured with a chuckle.

"What other way could you express it?"

As the elevator rose to their floor, Daniel peered down into the foyer. Long ago, he had grown immune to their characteristics' exquisite beauty. The perspective changed as I looked at things from her perspective. Richardson Properties was known for its white marble lobby floors. The foyer was crowded with employees who were dressed in impeccable uniforms and waiting to welcome the private party. Although most hotels adopted more contemporary dress codes, his father insisted that the workers continue to wear the traditional black uniforms that had been in place since his grandpa owned the entire establishment. He had to admit that it was a beautiful touch as he observed them moving about in their black outfits with golden trimmings.

"I guess you are correct. The ideal word to use is luxurious."

"I don't recall telling you recently, but I'm incredibly appreciative that you came. It is a big relief to enter a setting like this without feeling absolutely overwhelmed."

Daniel leaned out and drew her body close to him. "I don't need your gratitude. I'm glad to be with you today."

With a cry of delight, Maria pulled her phone from her purse when her phone dinged. "It's Jessica. They have already arrived! I can't wait to see her. One of the coolest persons you will ever meet, I assure you, is my niece."

"I'm not sure. I've got some really cool friends." As they came out of the elevator and walked up to their suite's double doors, Daniel made a joke.

He opened the door with the key card and was satisfied with the condition of the space. He spent all of his time at The Anatase in the presidential suite, which was occupied by Maria's brother and future sister-in-law. Dark woods and navy blue were used in the decor of their apartment. A full kitchen, living room, and glass double doors leading to the master bedroom were all included. He listened while Maria gushed about everything, including the comfort of the couch and the stainless-steel appliances. He wanted to lavish her with all the lovely things the world had to offer because of how excited she was about it all.
