Reds back made solid connection with the living room floor as a result of her opening her eyes to see her skeleton friend very very very very

I mean his arm around her torso didn't help either but now she's on the ground after letting out a pathetic yelp

Undyne and Alphyss laughed at her embarrassment just as Papyrus was waking. His sockets took a few seconds to adjust and once his vision came into focused he noticed the lack of the human who was beside him. Peering over the edge the two make eye contact , Reds face flushes before she stands abruptly

"Good morning!"

"GOOD MORNING. WAS THE FLOOR COMFIER?"

Now whyd he have to go and announce it.

Undyne and Alphyss snickers grew louder but Red chose to ignore them

"NO I! Uh- I fell.. anyways I'm gonna gey breakfast I can smell mom's cooking I'm gonna go now bye!" And she dashed out of the room leaving the two other female to erupt in laughter.

Papyrus rubbed his sockets too groggy to ask what the joke was. Sans popped in front of him and handed his brother a hot cup of coffee. Thanking him and taking a sip he scooted over to allow Sans to sit down beside him and talk about what dreams they had.

As they were idling chatting Claire walked in stretching her arms and yawning

"Mornin! Anyone see Red?"

"Yeh she slept here last night" Undyne clarified

"She's in the kitchen getting grub" Sans added.

With that the other human met up with her cousin in the kitchen just as she was begging Toriel for more food

"Mom pleassseee , 3 pancakes isn't enough it's gotta be an even 4. Pleasssseee"

"My child please , everyone needs to get the same amount and I don't have enough mixture to give you any extra."

Red pouted and sulked at the table causing her cousin to chuckle before wishing her a good morning

"Oh hey! How'd you sleep?"

"Yeah I slept OK. You obviously didn't if you moved During the night" Claire noted

"Yeah well I still got some rest so alls good heh" Red rubbed her neck slowly before stretching out her back. Her muscles popped in rhythm making Claire wince slightly. Red turned to the table and got lost looking at the wooden pattern , Claire knew something was on her cousins mind but what? And what could she even begin to ask.. there was so much that happened in the space of a short time..

And it's nearly over.

Soon there won't be any more running away from Monsters trying to attack you

No more doing ridiculous acts to soothe a monster and getting them to trust you

Your journey is almost over

Red nodded slowly before looking over at Toriel who was still busy making everyone's breakfast. Red watches her movements from getting a plate from the cupboard to gently placing down slices of toast for everyone alongside the piles of pancakes.

You're going to cause more heartache.

Red nods slowly.

"We're going soon aren't we?" Claire deadpanned

Red turned to her cousin with a sad expression before nodding again. Toriel turned slowly with wide eyes. Quickly shaking that expression away she smiled hiding it

"OH! Well my child we shall all see you off... after breakfast alright?"

"..yeah mom" Reds voice cracked causing her to clear her throat quickly. Toriel nodded before bustling out with the plates for everyone. Claire reached over and gently held her cousins arm rubbing small circles in it as Red held back her emotions.

"Hey", Claire coaxed

"We're almost home" She smiled

Hm.

Aren't you already there Red?

Her eyes watered more causing Claire to stand up and hurry to her side to comfort her.

"Hey hey hey its okay! You'll see Wally and Oogie soon!"

Oh Claire...

Despite everyone eating as slow as they could the time eventually came. Red and Claire stood at the stairs ready to reach the throne room.. and reach the barrier. Claire smiled and hugged everyone as she was saying goodbye thanking them for everything and talking about how much fun she had.

"You're all so wonderful! I can see why Red talked about you so much!! I'll never forget any of you I promise. This was some of the best fun I've ever had!" And she hugged them all again. They all smiled , of course they did , but the real attention was on Red

She came forward and began to hug everyone. Alphyss squeezed her , Undyne roughly grabbed her into a hug , Sans played his usual cool demeanor which crumbled into the tight hug, Toriel gave a real mother's hug and stroked her hair before kissing her forehead. Adi bowed her head with a small smile. Grunt... grunted.

Papyrus was last.

She opened her arms first with her usual smile. He scooped her up and spun her earning a giggle. Everyone smiled around them before finally the hug got tighter and the spinning stopped. They broke apart and he petted her head

"FAREWELL HU...RED"

She smiled

"Goodbye Papyrus"

The two humans turned for the stairs and left their friends behind.

Walking through the corridors Reds emotions were at a high.

Last time you did this it didn't end to well did it?

Red looks to her cousins who's smiling and looking around

It was a long twelve years wasn't it? And all you ever wanted was to come back.
