Bright lights and cheering children faded as the band was lowered down into Parts and Service.
"That was an excellent show everyone!" Freddy grinned.
"Of course it was! Every show is excellent when I'm there." Roxy bolstered.
"Your solo was super good today Roxystar!"
"'Roxystar'? How cheesy can you get?"
"C'mon you know you love it!" The platform finished descending and the technicians gave them all a once-over before letting them go.
Chica had an exercise class starting in a few minutes, so she ran off to that, while Roxy went to Rockstar Row. Monty followed Freddy to the main area and talked with the kids while definitely not slacking off. Nope. All business here.
"So Gregory comes back tonight?"
"Yes! Vanessa is bringing him with her to the night shift so we will see them then."
"Do we know where the kid's going to sleep?"
"I have requested a pillow and blanket from the Daycare Attendant! There are also some cots around here that I will try to move to my room."
"Cool, cool. How-"
"Freddy!" A kid ran up to Freddy with a drawing in hand. "Freddy! Freddy! I drew you a picture!"
"Wow! This is incredible!" Monty didn't pay any more attention to the conversation, it was nothing he hadn't heard before, but something odd caught his attention.
"Thank you so much rockstar!" Freddy always called the kids superstars. Why had he changed that all of a sudden? That was definitely weird.
"Monty, would you be up for playing a game?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm down. What do you want to play?"
"Hmm well there's bowling, golf, or we could visit Roxy and race."
"Let's bowl! You haven't wanted to do that in forever."
The trip to the bowling alley took no time at all, especially since there weren't many kids around there. It was mostly older siblings who decided they were 'too cool' for the pizzaplex.
However, the second Monty saw the image of Bonnie outside the alley he stopped walking. Memories slowly seeping through the cracks in the mental block the virus had constructed.
He remembered that night. Not being in control. Running into Bonnie at the wrong time. Needing to try killing something with his claws. Needing that data for some reason. Someone. His claws tearing into Bonnie's endoskeleton as Bonnie begged him to stop, to wake up. Finally throwing his mangled body deep into the service tunnels where he wouldn't be found for days, if not months. Maybe even years.
The perfect hiding spot.
Oh god.
He had killed Bonnie.

Gregory pulled the cords on his hoodie tighter around him, Vanessa hadn't been kidding when she said it was going to be freezing.
"Why are we going to the grocery store?"
"Because while I'll bring you dinner you can't just eat one meal a day."
"There's food at the pizzaplex, like the pizzas. I can eat that." Vanessa shook her head as she opened the car doors.
"Chewing gum had more nutritional value than anything in that building. We're getting some stuff to make sandwiches and other quick meals." Gregory slid into the passenger seat and Vanessa turned the car on.
The drive to the grocery store was quick and they spent about an hour stocking up. A case of water bottles, four loaves of bread, a large jar of peanut butter and some jelly, a small thing of Nutella, granola bars, instant oatmeal, and some other food stuffs that ended up in their cart.
They were walking back to the car when something clicked in his head.
"Sammy has a crush on you." Vanessa stopped walking.
"WHAT? Gregory how-"
"I was thinking about how she acted around you. They kept giving you this lovey-dovey look like you were made of gold."
"They did?" Vanessa looked she had just won the lottery.
"You have a crush on them too."
"No I don't, kid." She shook her head with a soft smile.
"Yes you do!"
"Gregory I can assure you I don't have a crush on her." Vanessa continued walking and Gregory followed behind her.
"Are you sure you don't have a crush on them?"
"Very sure"
"How can you be sure?" Vanessa shook her head and answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"Gregory, I'm aromantic."
"Like the smelly stuff?"
"Like the- you mean aromatic? No, no, Aromantic. It means I don't feel romantic attraction. I don't get crushes."
"Oh." That was a new concept."Well you still care about her a lot."
"Yeah," she said, almost breathlessly "I do."
-----------------
Monty had stopped walking just before they entered the bowling alley. He was shaking.
This was extremely concerning.
"Monty?" He was looking straight ahead, but didn't seem to be seeing anything. Freddy reached out and touched his arm.
Monty jerked back to reality and pulled away, immediately running off.
"Monty!"
It took a lot of searching, but eventually he found Monty running about the service tunnels.
"Monty! There you are! I was worried about you."
"Fazbear, oh god, Freddy I did it."
"What do you mean? What did you do?" Monty clutched the sides of his head.
"Oh god, oh god. I- Bonnie- the virus-" it clicked.
Freddy had never wanted to believe the rumors that Monty had been the reason Bonnie got "decommissioned", but here he was admitting to it. At the very least it hadn't been intentional. Whatever virus had caused his friends to go haywire the other night had been around far longer than they had realized.
"Monty, it was not your fault."
"It is! I dragged him here, he's somewhere down here Fazbear. I'll- I'll find him. I have too find him."
"Monty, the technicians probably already found him and took him away. I know it hurts, I swear. However, it was not your fault." Monty still stood in front of him, clutching his head and heaving dry sobs.
Freddy pulled him into a hug and held onto him as Monty collapsed into his arms. They sat there for an hour, just holding each other and mourning their friend.
