The Day of Suprises. pt. 2

Jeremiah, sat sadly by the pool after Adam left. I tried to talk to him but he wanted to be left alone. I stood there staring at him. Conrad came in and stood next to me. "What was that about? " He asked. "Hm?" I look up distracted by him. "Why'd you go off on Dad? Weren't you happy a while ago when he showed up?" Conrad questions.

"Connie, I was really happy to see Adam, yes because he had been a father to me when mine was a shitty one. He was a good father to me, but he was the worst husband to Beck. All men who I thought I could trust turned out to be vicious snakes. Bloody morons." I spat out angrily.

"You know I'd never break your trust right." Conrad reminds me. "Your my best friend Connie, I know you won't." I hug him.

"Peach- Mom's here. " Joe peeked out from the back door and shouted. We all ran to the front door.

The door opened and mom walked in. I rushed to hug her, "I missed you." I closed my eyes and breathed in the French smell. She always smelled like a pastries for some reason. I had missed the smell for almost 2 months now. I opened my eyes soon, resting my chin on her shoulder and saw who was standing by the car.

I pushed her away at instance and stumbled back. My knees felt weaker and my mouth dry, my head spun as if it was grass cutter blade. Sweat trickled down my face and I turned back to walk away but ended up collapsing. Jeremiah held me up. I looked at Joe with fear in my eyes.

He was here in Cousin's.

My father was out there by the car waiting to get in.

"He's here." I whispered panting for air.

Joe looked out to where my eyes were locked and then back at my mom. He looked angry. Angrier than I had ever seen him. He moved past her then made his way to the man.

Conrad right on his tail. I fell to the ground, Jeremiah knelt beside me. "Breath Georgia. I need you to Breath." He said softly, taking my face in his hands.

The crowd had formed near the door now. John and his girlfriend, Beck, Laurel and Mom, Belly and Steven.

I looked out to see Joe shouting at our Father. Conrad tried to stop him but before he knew Joe had punched him in the face not once not twice but four times.

Conrad rushed in between them and pulled Joe apart.

Mom ran out screaming at Joe. She pulled our dad in the house, Joe right behind him with Conrad who held him back. I flinched when the man walked past me.

"Don't worry Peach. We are here. He will not touch you. He will not breath the same air as you. " Joe kneels in front of me. "I don't want to be here. I don't want to look at him. Please. Why would she bring him back in our lives?" I started crying.

"Peach listen to me. You have to stay strong. That man wants to see you cry. Don't make him happy. Not this time." Joe says pulling me into a hug.

The other kids joined into a hug too. "We are all here for you Peach." Belly said. I pulled her closer and hugged her tighter.

A minute later, I walk in behind Jeremiah and Conrad who covered me like they were protecting me from anything that man had to say. Belly held my hand and Steven was with Joe.
