Moonlit lips & Star-filled eyes

Your lips are fluorescent
Bathed under the glow of the moon
Obliviously perfect
Chapped and scarred
From the countless nervous bites

I want to connect our lips
To smother your scars with
My love

Instead I focus on the way
The dew drops on the grass
Seep through the blanket we're sitting on,
Reaching my hands;
Which ache to trace the outline
Of your lips

My heart speeds up
As the imagery in my head fades away
And I sense your hands move
Centimeters away from mine

My eyes roam back to your moonlit lips
And star-filled eyes
And I come to the conclusion
That you're the only galaxy
I'll ever want or need.
