Nico

It was august 28th, the fifth day after the meeting in the Big House and Nico was doing just fine. Until his sister came to talk to him. He wasn't going to admit it, but he was kinda pissed of how she avoided him for the last couple days.

"Hey".

"Hey", he responded not looking at her.

"I need to tell you something".

"Shoot".

"Nico".

"What?", Nico demanded. He was sensing the fight coming, and somehow he was already in a bad mood.

"You're upset".

"I'm not upset!", he said like it was ridiculous.

"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry okay?"

"Why are you sorry?", Nico asked still acting clueless for some reason.

"Nico!!"

Nico stared at his feet.

Hazel sighed, "I know I've been... distant, lately, but you have to understand I'm worried about Frank. What would you do if Will went missing for 5 days, huh?"

Hearing Will's name made something inside him stir and turn. Suddenly he felt angry, so much he wanted to punch something on the spot. Why would Hazel bring him up, she knew he was already upset! She also knew it was a very... sensitive subject for him.

On the other hand what she said made sense. He'd probably go crazy too if something happened to Will, as much as he didn't want to admit it. The thought kind of softened him. What was he doing? Playing games with Hazel. She was his sister, his supportive, loving sister who was always on his side. He should be good to her too not mad at her when she needed him. What was wrong with him?

"Um, no, i understand, you're worried, that's normal, i- i, am sorry Hazel."

His sister looked relieved. "Good, because i need to ask you something".

"Oh-oh".

"I have no choice okay?!", said Hazel sounding already defensive and sad at the same moment. And then suddenly Nico knew what she was asking.

"No".

"Please, Nico."

"Absolutely not".

"We have to go to that Diagon Alley in two hours! We don't have another choice".

"Yes you do! Why don't you ask Thalia or Jason??"

"They have pretty good reasons for not coming Nico. Unlike some others."

Nico ignored the last part, "Reyna, what about her, she'd be perfect for the job."

"Reyna said she can't leave the camp and you know no one can convince her otherwise".

"But-"

"Do you think it's easy for me?", she suddenly asked interrupting him. "Do you think i want to be doing this?". Now she was tearing up. Oh great.

"Fr-Frank could be dead. Replacing him on the quest is a way of accepting it. But i don't want to accept it Nico I'm not ready to do it." Now she was crying hard, tears wetting her T-shirt, her eyes turing red and puffy.

Generally, Nico was no expert in comforting, but now it was his chance to make up. He took her hands. "Nobody said Frank was dead okay, so don't you dare lose hope. I bet you he's gonna come in one or two days or as many as it takes and have no idea what's happening and you'll be happily back together".

Hazel managed a small laugh and looked Nico in the eye. "Thanks Nico that- that means a lot", after a pause she added, "I really know it's a lot to ask but-"

"I'll do it". He said with a sight.

"You- you will?"

"Yeah if it means that much".

"It does! Thank you Nico I owe you big time."

"Like hell you do", he said and they both chuckled.
