Leo
Leo and Piper, as they were the same age, would go to the same year, the 5th, so they had the same books to buy. When they collected all of them, two copies of each, they went to find the others, so they could pay and (finally) get out of there. All the dust was making Leo sick. Besides he didn't want to waist any more time buying books, rather than getting his pet or new wand! An actual wand!
He had been jumping up and down as usual, rattling about all the fun they were gonna have and how their wands would be like.
But Piper wasn't as enthusiastic. She didn't complain about Leo's attitude once and was silent most of the time. Leo could tell something was off, but when he asked her if something was wrong, multiple times, she just shrugged and said her stomach hurt.
Oh please. Like Leo bought excuses like that. He was the king of excuses! He had invented, half of them, for Hephaestus' sake.
But it kind of bugged him that Piper wouldn't tell him what was going on. He was supposed to be her best friend and friends told each other everything. Right?
At last, giving up he stopped trying to get something out of her, and instead focused on being impatient.
After a minute or so, they found Annabeth and the others, who apparently were already being social, because Leo saw them chatting with two dudes and one girl, who seemed like they were Annabeth's and Percy's age.
"Yo, Annabeth, me and Beauty Queen are ready, can we go now please?", he said eyeing the teenagers.
Annabeth sighted and gave him a look, (Leo was kinda getting used to those looks), and said, "This is Leo Valdez and Piper McLean, they are also from America".
Then she pointed at her new friends like she was looking at some god and said, "This is, Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley".
Leo didn't know what they were expecting but when he said with one breath, "Oh hi I'm Leo, great to meet you, ok can we go now?", they looked at him a like he was hit in the head.
The redhead repeated glaring at Leo, "Um, he's Harry Potter".
Leo rolled his eyes. What was the kid's problem? "Dude. I heard, I'm not deaf. It's a great name, moving on now shall we?", he responded slowly, so the poor boy could understand him.
Annabeth looked uneasy, like Leo had said something he shouldn't, she opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by Hazel.
"Oh yeah, we didn't ask your names before, its really nice to meet you", she told them with a kind smile.
The redhead was now glaring at her even harder, while the girl and the Harry-Dude, the one with the geeky round glasses, had a matching frown on their faces.
Hazel suddenly became uncomfortable by the looks that lunatic was giving her and looked up at Annabeth worried, "Did I say something wrong?"
"No Hazel, its okay", Annabeth assured her and then turned to the confused trio. "Not many people in America are keeping track of the things going on in Britain", she told them apologetically.
Leo was starting to dislike those kids. Even if they were someone super duper important, what were they expecting, that he'd gasp and start bowing at their sight?
Besides, he'd bet they hadn't done half the things he and the others had over the years. I mean, we did literally defeat the most powerful Goddess of all time, a fair amount of titans, a dozen giants, and like, a bazillion other monsters.
Or, apparently, so they thought. Now, Sweet Mother Nature, was loose and awake again, doing bargains with that Voldemort dude.
But anyway, what could those kids have done in a world without evil godesss and titans and all the monsters coming from everywhere. A lot of charities or something?
They were the important ones here! They should be gaping at them! If only Leo could reveal who they actually were, and suck it to their little british faces...
"Well, Hermione, Harry and Ron here are kind of a legend, especially Harry with uh, his past", Annabeth gave the Harry-Dude another apologetic look but he didn't seem to even notice her. His attention was on Leo and the others who apparently didn't know his majesty, although his face didn't show anger, only curiosity.
"Didn't any of you read the papers i gave you?", exclaimed Annabeth looking at them disapprovingly.
The excuses started coming one by one:
"Um, i eh, kinda forgot?...".
"I was the backup plan, didn't know i was coming".
"I'm so sorry Annabeth, i was so stressed out about Fr-".
"Nah, i didn't read them, i only read the part about the dragon", Leo said with a smug face he knew would piss Annabeth off.
Proving him right, she shot daggers at him, so Leo had to defend himself.
"Hey! Don't look at me! Aquaman here didn't read either!""Well i happen to be her boyfriend, so suck that", Percy responded earning himself another look from his girlfriend.
Leo then saw the geeky Harry-Dude, gaping at them with a weird smile on his face.
"Hey, you! Geeky guy!", surprise surprise, he turned his head to that, "What d'you glaring at?"
He shook his head, "Uhm, sorry i just-". Oh, that accent was making Leo want to smack him.
He turned to the girl with the bushy hair, "Is that how we look when we're arguing?"
"Oh believe me, that doesn't even begin to describe it".
Everyone laughed at that.
"So, can we finally go now?", whined Leo, but luckily it was really time to go so, Annabeth finally announced they were leaving.
"We'll see you later".
Everyone said they're goodbyes, then went to pay their books. After that weird encounter, they finally stepped outside and headed to the wand-store.
That was interesting, Leo thought.
