NOTE: This is where I decided to take some liberties with the source material. For the past 22 episodes I had been faithful to the original, but this is an exception. Considering the Lincoln Island arc (episodes 23-the first half of 27) didn't really have much of a plot and suffered from too many character regressions and out of place nonsense, I decided to tone both of those faults down and craft something that felt truer to the characters using whatever scenes I could. I hope this works out much better than the episodes as they were in the show.
For a long time after being jettisoned, the captain's cabin continued to drift silently alone through the deep sea. Nadia lay on Nemo's bed in tears, shaken by everything that had happened... most of all Electra's shocking revelation that Nemo was her father. Reflecting on how she had treated him, Nadia could hear Nemo's last words to her echoing in her mind.
CAPTAIN NEMO'S VOICE: Nadia, I want you to know you have made me very sad. (Echoes)
Jean sat nearby, thinking to himself...
JEAN: Where are we going?
Marie, meanwhile, was confused and worried.
MARIE: What's the matter? Is something wrong? Where are Hanson and Sanson? And where did everybody go?
Suddenly, the capsule came to a halt against soft, dry land!
(Clanging Noises)
JEAN, NADIA, & MARIE: (Screaming)
Nadia, Jean, Marie, and King threw open the hatch and looked out. A beach loomed just ahead of them. The quartet swam to shore.
Exhausted, they collapsed upon the sand, staring groggily at the nearby trees.
NADIA: Say, Jean...
JEAN: Hmm?
NADIA: Where are we? Is this Africa?
JEAN: Uh... no. You see those palm trees over there? Those aren't indigenous to Africa.
NADIA: (Disappointed) Oh... What a pity.
Recovering, Jean, Nadia, Marie, and King tried to figure out where they were. After exploring the beach, the jungle, and the tall mountain, nearby they realized they had ended up on a deserted island! Jean didn't know what to make of their predicament, but Nadia seemed to have a different idea in mind.
NADIA: We are the only ones on this entire island. There's no evil around here, and there are no people that I hate around me. If Marie and King are by my side, then I can spend the rest of my life on this island.
JEAN: Nadia... what about me?
The next day, the children salvaged all the materials they could from the captain's cabin. Christening their new home "Lincoln Island," the children set up camp and began their new life.
Before long, however, the companions were faced with numerous problems — none more challenging than finding food. At first the children feasted on rations from the Captain's Cabin, but within days, they had used up all of the supplies. Jean knew they would have to survive on something else. He fashioned a boat out of wood, and went out to sea. When he came back, he had caught a healthy supply of fish. Marie and King were delighted, but Nadia became furious and began to berate them. Jean tried to reason with her.
JEAN: We really don't have a whole lot of food to choose from around here, Nadia.
NADIA: (Pissed Off) Eating animals is cruel! No human being has the right to feed off others!
