I trust you.

Jazmin laughs, picking up another frootloop and unsuccessfully trying to toss it into Eddie's open mouth.

"Ah, so close-" he laughs, watching the frootloop hit the floor.

"I'll get it this time, I swear!" she reaches into the box and pulls out another one, tossing it into the air. Eddie opens his mouth and moves forward slightly, catching it successfully this time. Jazmin raises her hands in triumph "Yes! See I told you!"

Eddie laughs, swallowing the piece of cereal. He raises his hand and high-fives her. Eddie looks down at the floor, noticing all of the failed attempts spread out around the boathouse.

"Look at the mess you made," he taunts.

"Me? You totally were the one who missed all those times," she leans back on her elbows next to Eddie, looking over at him.

"Was not! You just have terrible aim."

"You just can't catch!"

Eddie chuckles, picking up a frootloop from the ground and throwing it at her. Jazmin gasps dramatically, holding onto her arm as if it hurt.

"Rude! No need to abuse me because you're wrong."

Eddie rolls his eyes and pushes her arm gently. "I didn't abuse you, you drama queen."

"Did too," she sticks her tongue out at him, trying to keep a serious face.

Eddie however, smiles at her and shakes his head. Jazmin gives in, grinning back.

"See, you're smiling, you're fine. Just dramatic," he pokes her side.

"Stop, that tickles," she swats his hand away, giggling.

"Oh, does it?" Eddie sits up straight and tickles both of her sides.

"Eddie!" she swats at his hands, her laughs filling the once quiet space.

He moves his hands back raising them in surrender. "Fine, fine," he chuckles a bit himself. Jazmin sits up, pressing her hand to her chest and catching her breath. She smacks his chest in a playful manner.

"Asshole," she breathes out after catching her breath.

"You love me, don't lie to yourself sweetheart," he teases.

Jazmin just shakes her head, looking down at the floor "You know, you aren't as bad as they say you are. Not that I believed them anyways."

Eddie smiles, "You aren't so bad yourself I mean, why do they call you an outcast anyway Jazzy? You seem pretty normal to me."

"I don't know," she shrugs, looking back to him. "The kids at school just thought I was 'weird' or 'freaky.' Thats what they told me at least."

"If you don't mind me asking, why did you hang out with Jason and his team last year anyway. They never even talked to you, you were just kinda- I don't know- there?"

"The 'popular' douchebags only tolerated me last year because of Billy. Before he came to town, they picked on me a lot. And I just kinda- let them."

"Really? You've never seemed like the kind to let people walk all over you. You just seem so straight forward. I thought you would've told Jason off."

"Well that's because Billy started hanging around me. I guess, um, Billy really taught me to stand up for myself, and even when I couldn't he would stand up for me. Even though we weren't officially together, he really made me realize my self worth."

Eddie furrows his brows, "Why didn't he ever make it official? I just always assumed you guys were together."

"I'm pretty sure he was embarrassed," Jazmin bites her lip, thinking about how to phrase her next words, "of me, I mean. He probably didn't want anyone do know he was dating an 'outcast,' or a 'freak,' I suppose," she looks back down to the floor, avoiding eye contact.

"Well in that case, we can be freaks together."

"I'd like that," she grins, lifting her graze from the floor to look at him again.

"Do, um, do you ever miss him? Billy I mean-"

Jazmin smiles sadly, thinking for a moment, "I'm over it, but I think sometimes I just miss the idea of him, rather than missing him, if that makes sense. Before Billy and I started 'going out,' if you even call it that, he was one of my best friends," she pauses for a minute, recalling her memories.

"Is it- um, is it hard knowing that everyone thinks he died in a fire?" Eddie mentally scolds himself for asking the question immediately, "Shit sorry, that was intrusive. I was just curious, you don't have to answer that."

"No- no, it's okay really," she clears her throat, sitting up straight with Eddie mimicking her action. "It's hard sometimes, keeping a secret this big is definitely a challenge." She thinks carefully about what she actually wants to tell Eddie. "I think I struggle more with blaming myself," she admits. "I feel like I could've done more. Like- I don't know- like I could've saved him somehow."

"Hey- it's most definitely not your fault, okay? You could've done nothing to save him, you know that right? If you tried, you could've died too," he states seriously.

Her eyes glass over and she looks up at Eddie, "I've been having nightmares. Bad nightmares, all about Billy. Sometimes they just- they feel so real. Like outside of your van the other day, after the basketball game, I thought I saw him. Like I actually thought I saw him. And it was just so-" a tear slips onto her cheek and she quickly swipes it away. "Sorry, it's stupid."

Her words just spill out. She didn't mean to tell him so much, but she couldn't help it. Everytime she was around Eddie, she felt like she could tell him anything. He was just so easy for her to talk to.

"It's not stupid- don't say that."

"Thank you, really," she sniffles. "You're the only person I've actually told that. It's feels good to get it off my chest," she sighs, running a hand through her hair.

Eddie holds out his arms, pulling her to him and wrapping his arms around her tightly. She wraps her arms back around him, laying her head on his chest. "Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me," he whispers into her hair, rubbing her back soothingly.

"Of course, Ed. I think I trust you more than anyone," she whispers back, closing her eyes.

Eddie beams at the comment, "I trust you more than anyone too Jaz," she quietly hums in response, it being barely audible.

Eddie stays quiet for a long time, debating on what to say.

"You know I love you right?"

He receives no response, not even a hum. "You okay?" Eddie looks down at her, seeing her peaceful expression. Her eyes were shut and her mouth was slightly open. Her hands holding loosly onto the hem of Eddies shirt.

She fell asleep.

He sighs, kissing her forehead. "Sweet dreams love."

"Jazmin, hello? Are you there? Jazmin!"

Eddie jolts awake at the sound of the walkie, Jazmin still asleep on top of him. He groans and reaches for it, pulling it toward him. The movement wakes the girl up. She rolls off of Eddie, sitting up. "Whats wrong?"

"It's Dustin, he's on the wakie calling for you," he says in a groggy voice, still tired. He passes her the walkie.

"Jazmin, hello! It's important," Dustin voice calls from the box.

She pushes down the button. "What do you want?" she groans.

"Well, Ms. Attitude, we have a problem."

"Whats wrong? Did another person die?"

"Um, well-" Dustin hesitates, "It's Max, Jaz." He pauses for a moment, causing the girls anxiety to heighten. "We- uh- we kinda think she's cursed. Vecna cursed Max."

A/N

This is definitely a shorter chapter, 1238 words. I had a ton of writers block on this, I hope it turned out okay!
