[Ten Years Later]
On a Saturday morning, Shoyo sleeps in late. Tobio usually lets him sleep on the weekends since he has to get up early to get the kids off to school on weekdays. When Shoyo turns over, he notices the time and that Tobio was already up.
He yawns and stretches before tossing on a t-shirt over his boxers and shuffling down to the kitchen, where he finds Tobio drinking coffee and reading on his phone. Tobio looks up and smiles that special smile reserved for Shoyo.
"Good morning, my love."
"Good morning," Shoyo says, placing a kiss on Tobio's forehead. "Where are the kids?"
"Where do you think? In the yard."
Once Tobio went back to his parents' company, they were able to move out of their apartment and into a house with a nice back yard. It was great for the kids, and for all of them really, to have more room. Shoyo goes to the kitchen window that looks out into the yard and smiles at his kids playing volleyball.
The twins are ten years old now. They haven't presented yet, but Shoyo and Tobio have vowed that whether alpha, beta or omega, their children would always have their unending love and support.
The siblings are ridiculously competitive with each other. They are constantly competing over who can run faster, who can eat more, who has better grades, whose receives are better, who can do the best serves, even who their parents love more (that is always a tie). Right now, Emiko is taller than her brother and he hates it. Shoyo has told him, "Don't worry, love, you'll be taller than her someday. You have to be patient," and he ruffles his son's hair and kisses him, causing the pup to die from embarrassment.
Every day the twins find something to battle over. They keep score on a rolling basis and never let up on each other. They tease each other incessantly, call each other names, and pretend like they don't like each other, but if anyone bad-mouths one of them, the other comes to their defense in a heartbeat. They are simultaneously best friends and greatest rivals, but they push each other to be their best.
Kaito looks more like Shoyo every day. As Shoyo watches from the window, Kaito sets the ball to Emiko, who enthusiastically spikes it to the other side of the net. She is a female version of Tobio, sleek black hair, currently pulled into a ponytail, and soulful blue eyes. She is currently begging her brother for another toss.
Shoyo smiles and watches them for a few moments, recalling the days when he played volleyball. Tobio came up behind him, and pulled him into a hug, resting his chin on Shoyo's head.
"How long have they been at it?" Shoyo asked.
"About an hour so far."
"Are we going to regret teaching them volleyball?"
"Nah, they'll love it just like we did when we were young. Who knows? Maybe more."
Shoyo smiles fondly and they continue to watch as Emiko says "One more!"
Later that day, they plan to see Tobio's family for dinner. Tobio's parents have long since accepted Hinata. It didn't take long once they realized a few things – that he was a wonderful mother to their grandchildren, that he was devoted to Tobio, and that, well, that he was himself, because, as Tobio has long known, everyone loves Shoyo.
Their parents have even come to accept Miwa's husband and are in the process of doting on Miwa and Aoto's little girls, aged seven and five.
Although Shoyo doesn't need the money any more, he still works the Wingless Crow a couple of times per week. He loves the energy and the people and the buzz and it makes him happy to have something to do outside the home.
Things are different at the bar nowadays, though. Bokuto and Akaashi have two pups, a girl aged four and a little boy who is now a year old. Bokuto still works at the bar nights, while Akaaski works as an editor during the day. Bokuto talks even more about their pups than he used to talk about Akaashi. Even Kenma and Kuroo have a pup now, who is almost two years old. Since Kenma became rich (the famous Kodzuken), Kuroo quit his bouncer job and now stays at home with their little boy.
Sometimes when Shoyo is working and their kids are with their grandparents or aunts or friends, Tobio comes into the Wingless Crow to visit with Daichi, Suga and Bokuto and to watch his mate like he used to all those years ago.
He seats himself at the bar, not needing to talk much, and just watches. Shoyo comes over when he can to refill his mate's drink and to flirt. Tobio loves the attention.
"What are you smiling at?" Shoyo asks one night as he gets Tobio another beer.
"You, of course," Tobio answers.
"Like what you see, alpha?" Shoyo teases.
"Always," Tobio answers, and then continues, finding words he never had back before they were together.
"From the beginning my eyes have adored you – they always have and they always will. Back then I adored you from afar but it's much better now to worship you up close."
Shoyo has tears in his eyes. "Tobi, that's so... thank you. I really want to kiss you so bad right now."
Tobio chuckles. "Probably bad for tips." Instead he reaches out his hand and links his pinky with Shoyo's. They look at each other with goofy grins for a minute.
"I gotta go work now," Shoyo finally says.
"I know. What time do you get off?" Tobio asks, as if he doesn't know.
"Two o'clock. Want to walk me home so no big bad alphas harass me?"
"I'd love to."
"Then it's a date."
"Go to work, Shoyo. I'm here. I'll always be here."

[A/N: Thank you all for coming on this ride with me. This fic was so fun to write. It was my first time tackling omegaverse and I hope I didn't get anything too wrong.
My initial idea for this story was 5-6 chapters and 10k words. Somehow it turned into 21 chapters and 50k words!
My next story, called Kintsugi, will be a kagehina/bokuaka/sakuatsu AU. Be on the lookout for the first chapter soon.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Comments always welcome!]
