Bring the Rain || Valorant

03 - Cadet Rain || Part 2

The pistol fires. You cringe a little as you feel the bullet pass through you, but there isn't any pain. You open your eyes and your body relaxes as you realize you're unharmed. You return to normal and Sage runs up to you with a worried look on her face.

Back when you and Nori first found out you were a radiant as teens, you experimented a lot with your powers. One of these tests was throwing stuff at you when you're in your water-like state to see what would happen.

"Impressive!" Reyna compliments.

"Are you okay, are you injured?!" Sage asks before you can respond to Reyna's compliment.

"They are fine Sage, mira. Not a scratch." Reyna answers in Spanish and English.

"Reyna! Let them answer. Rain, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. I tested it out quite a bit as a teenager, although this is the first time I've tried it out with a gun." You respond, as you start to realize that Reyna agreed to shooting you a bit too fast.

"I think that's enough for now, let us see how good your control is." Sage says

"What do you mean, I thought I did pretty well at destroying those training dummies." You respond with confusion in your voice.

"Yes, but are you able to come up with new uses for your power any time you want? For example..." She pulls a pen out from her pocket.

"Can you take this pen from my hand, using only your radiant power?"

"I don't know." you respond

"Try."

You think for a bit and come up with an idea you think might work. A tentacle made of water that remains attached to your arm. Your arm becomes like water and you close your eyes so you can focus on changing its form. After a minute or so you feel an odd sensation and you open your eyes to see your fingers meld together and become a tentacle. You elongate it and reach out for the pen. You wrap your newly shaped hand around it, in an attempt to grab it. Sage let's go of it and you slowly begin pulling it towards you. Right as it's within reach of your other hand you lose control and the pen drops to the floor. The tentacle becomes a hand again and you let out a sigh of defeat.

"Do not be disappointed Rain, that was good for your first try."

"Really?"

"Yes, radiant powers take time to master. I wasn't always able to resurrect the dead." Sage reassures you.

"Sit, I will guide you through an exercise that I think might help if done consistently." Sage instructs.

You sit and so does Reyna as she lets out a bored sigh. She takes out her phone and distracts herself as Sage continues.

"I want you to close your eyes and make a ball of water. Let it hover over your hands."
