After we left Club Inferno, I headed back to the house. My mind went in all directions on how this can play out.

I pull into the driveways. I notice that there are more cars here. Maybe he's in a meeting or something.

Getting all of the bags I bought I step outside the car and head inside

It weird.

The whole house is dark.

"Hello" I call out.

I hear faint whispering in the dining room. I put my bags on the couch and slowly walked over to the dining room.

However the sounds of my heels against the tile of the floor they will hear me coming.

"Hello," I said slowly when I entered the room. The whole family hushed and looked at me.

"What's going on?" I asked them and everyone looked at Arensio. He walked toward me and grabs my arm tightly and pulled me away from the dining room.

"Hey let go of me, asshole!" I shouted and hit his arm but to no prevail. He dragged me to the closet room which was an office. He lets me go and shuts the door.

"What the fuck is your problem," I shouted.

With a flash, he quickly grabbed my throat and pushes me against the closet wall.

His hands squeeze me tightly that my breathing is cut off. I claw at his arm but nothing.

He pulls out his gun from his hostler and put it against my temple. "Who the fuck are you and who is M," he said in an aggressive tone.

Shit, he knows but I don't think I can answer as my vision begins to blackout.

Arensio lets go of my neck and I fall onto the floor gasping for air. Arensio bends down and places his gun underneath my chin.

"Answer the question," he says.

"Please don't do this,"

He clocks his gun and presses it further against me.

"Who is M and how are you involved?" He asked.

I hesitated.

"Fine then," he starts to say,

"HIS NAME IS MICHEAL!" I yell. Arensio stops and moves the gun away just a little

"We use to date about 10 years ago when we were in New York. He was a local gangster and I was in school but his boss got killed his gang made him leader. After that, he became more and more paranoid and abusive. When I was in my final year, he started hitting me, and when I tried to run he would send his gang to look for me and drag me back. So I figured the only way for me to get away from him is if he is dead or in jail. Back then I couldn't kill him because his gang would know it was me so I gather enough evidence against him and gave it to the police. They arrested him and he was supposed to get 20 to life but apparently, he's out and looking for me." I cried.

"I'm sorry I messed up your business I thought that... if I married you, you can protect me from him. But if you don't want that I understand," I tell him.

I look up at him and he is staring at me. Almost like he trying to decide if I'm lying or not.

"No, I decided to marry you for my selfish reason same as you. You are my fiancé now and if anyone threatens you or my business is my enemy," he says then left the room.

After my confession, I've seen Arensio less and less. He's been coming home late at night covered in blood. When I ask Lorenzo about it he says it's business.

So I left it at that and stop asking about it. I kept myself busy with wedding planning and running the club

This morning in particular was a sad day for everyone at the club.

Today is Jay's funeral.

Jay was a good man. He was funny, protective, and kind.

It's sad to see that he won't be able to see his little girl grow up and it's all my fault.

I stood in front of the mirror wearing a black dress. My hair was pinned up in a high slick back ponytail.

The door opened and Arensio walked through. He wore an all-black tux. He looked sexy.

Our eyes meet through the mirror and even though I'm fully dressed I felt completely naked under his gaze.

His eyes lingered up and down my body until his eyes came back to mine. He walks up to me until he stood directly behind me.

I felt fingertips on the base of my neck and his fingertips trails down leaving a tingling sensation down my back.

The sound of my back zipper pulling up brought my mind back.

"Why are you dressed up?" I asked him.

"I going with you,"

"Why?"

"I don't need a reason to be with my fiancé," he says pulling away.

The drive to the cemetery wasn't long but it felt like it was due to the silence and tension between us.

When we got to the cemetery there were a fair amount of people there. No more than two dozen.

Arensio pull the car around and parked away the furthest. We got out and started heading to the service.

The closer we got the more my heart pounded and ache.

This is all my fault.

Jay doesn't deserve to be put in the ground. He deserves so much more. I killed him.

"Stop that," Arensio said in a demanding tone.

"Stop what,"

"Stop blaming yourself. Jay's death is not your fault. Micheal did this. He killed Jay to hurt you and he will pay for it. I promise you," he declares.

I didn't know what to say but instead, I give him a thankful smile. We continued forward until we reached the others.

The service was beautiful and didn't last any more than an hour.

Everyone is lining up to speak with Cindy, Jay's wife, and Sophie, his daughter. Arensio walked away on his phone for a bit.

After the man in front of me, it was my turn to speak to them. "Hey, Valencia," she says softly.

I leaned over to hug her and he returned the gesture. "I'm so so sorry," I say to her.

"You have no reason to be. Because of you, Jay had a job after he got out of prison, and thank your donation my daughter and I won't be kicked out of our house." She says

"Donation?" I asked her confused.

"Yes, that 200,000 is gonna help us so much thank you," she says giving me another hug.

When we pulled away I turn to see arensio. He must have made the donations but why?
