Chapter 2

The next day, I got ready and we went to the funeral. When we got there, we went to look for my dads old friends. He went up to one of them, leaving me behinde. So I just stood there awkwardly. "Hey! Daisy come here!" My dad called me. I walked over there to see that he's talking to one of his friends. "Sweetheart, this is my old friend Lenny Feder." He said gesturing to the man infront of him. "Oh my God! This is Daisy?! She's grown up since the last time I saw her. She's very beautiful." Lenny said. I smiled a little. "Hi." I said shyly, hiding behind my dad a little. "She's shy." My dad explained. Lenny smiled. "Hey. Why don't you go and try to make friends. Ok?" My dad said kneeling down infront of me. "Ok daddy." I said and wondered off. I looked for kids my age. I eventually saw a girl that looks a little bit younger than me. I got the courage to go up to her and tap her on the shoulder. "Um... Hi. I'm daisy.." I said shyly. The girl smiled. "Hey. I'm Charlotte." She said in a friendly voice. It made me more comfortable. "That's a pretty name." I said a little more confidentially. "Oh thank you." She said. A boy came up to us. "Hey Charlotte. Who's this?" He asked. "This is Daisy. Daisy this is my brother Andre." Charlotte said. "Oh. Hi." I said. "Hey." He said. We talked for a little while when Charlotte looked behind me and started giggling. "What is it?" I asked confused. "I think one of Mr. Feders sons are staring at you." She said. I looked behind me to see a guy around my age, maybe a little bit older, looking at me. His mouth was open a little and he was looking at me dreamily behind his sunglasses. I have to admit, he was pretty cute. I blushed. When he saw that I looked at him, he looked away quickly. "See? I told you." She said laughing. I smiled and blushed. We talked a little while longer when a girl came up to us. "Oh! Donna, this is my new friend Daisy." Charlotte said. "Hi! It's nice to meet you." She said with a big smile. "Hi." I said. Donna, Charlotte and I talked for a couple of more minutes when my dad called me. "Hey Daisy! It's time to go inside!" My dad called. I ran off with him.

When Lenny was done with his speech and moment of silence, a dude with really weird hair went up and started to sing. I saw Lenny and some other dude talk. I guess they made a bet because when the dude singing got down on both knees, Lenny got a few more bucks to go with all his money. When the dude singing was finished, my dad made a buzzing sound. "Oh grow up will ya!" The man said in embarrassment. I elbowed my dad and gave hima stern look. "What? What'd I do?" He whispered to me like he didn't do anything. I just rolled my eyes and listened to the rest of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we went outside for food and refreshments. I got a slice of cake and sat down next to Charlotte. "What's you're favorite animal?" She asked me. "Um.. Giraffe. What's yours?" I asked. "I like monkeys." She said. "Cool." I said. We ate and talked for a while longer untill I went to throw my plate away. "I'm gonna go throw this away. Be right back." I said and got up to look for a trash can. I found one and threw my plate away and headed back to where I was sitting before. As I was walking, I saw that boy and I'm guessing his brother playing with video games. They were holding them too close to their faces. 'That's not safe for their eyes' I thought to myself and walked over to them. I took a deep breath. "You know that will ruin your eyesight. Right?" I said when I reached them. The boy looked up and his jaw dropped before he snapped back into reality. He closed his mouth and took his sunglasses off. "Uh.. um.. Y-yea. Yea I know. It's just r-really fun to play." He stuttered. "Then why don't you just hold it farther away from your face?" I asked him. "W-well. I don't know." He said. His cheeks turned bright red and his I'm guessing little brother laughed at him. I smiled. "I'm Daisy." I said holding my hand out to him. He looked up with joyful eyes. "I'm Greg. Greg Feder." He said taking my small hand and shaking it gently. I smiled brighter. "And this is my brother Keithie." He said gesturing to the smaller boy next to him. "Hi." I said. He waved and went back to his game. "Well nice to meet your Greg. I have to go back to my friend. Bye." I said and left to go back to my spot.soon it was time to go and we packed up and headed to the lake house.
