Cordelia Aurelius Pov
"Cordelia." I heard a voice say, slightly muffled by my deliriousness.
It shouted again with a bit more urgency, "Cordelia!"
"Aqua?" I mumbled in a half-conscious daze.
"Cordelia! Your fight's about to start!" the voice once more, and I startled awake, sitting up abruptly.
I rubbed my eyes and saw Anna frantically waving in my face.
"Get your butt out there! Your match is about to start!" She shouted again and I began to rise to my feet.
It seemed as if I had been napping on the floor, and regaining most of my rationale, I began to get up and steadily walk forward.
As I made it out there, I noticed that only 4 schools had yet remained.
My next opponent, a girl wearing the bright yellow of Springfield academy, was doing stretches that I probably should replicate to get my mind off of that weird dream.
I had activated my second phase in that dream...somehow.
I was also younger...maybe 10 or 11, and Aqua looked to be in his late teenage years. Where was I? Was I fighting a beast in the relictombs? And why wasn't I using runes to channel my magic?
I shook my head, trying to dispel the obscure dream as the announcer began to speak.
"Cordelia of highblood Aurelius versus Kaylen of highblood Obrion."
"Zane of named blood Christoph versus Aryaan of highblood Barrett.
"Alister of highblood Reese versus Anna of named blood Perez."
'Good luck Anna' I thought to myself grimly as I made my way up to the stage. I recognized the boy she was going with; Allister Reese was the regalia I had seen fight earlier.
"Dawn of named blood Meyer versus Luis of named blood Anderson."
As the booming voice of the announcer rang throughout the colosseum, I tried to remember what the specialty of high blood Obrion was.
While it was rare for normal bloods or even named bloods to have their own history of specialization, it was a common occurrence for highbloods to specialize in weapons and even elements such as the Aurelius affinity for water magic.
Suddenly I realized with a slight tinge of fear just what highblood Obrion was known for... it was lightning magic.
Ever since I could remember, I'd had a very hard time dealing with lightning magic. I knew that if it so much as touched me, I'd be on the floor in seconds.
But with lightning being the fastest element, I definitely had my work cut out for me.
'Damn,'
In all of my nervousness, I suddenly became aware of the slight prickle on my skin from the pressure that sovereign Exeges exerted from all the way up in the highbox.
It was crazy to think that he was holding back, yet I could still feel it.
I meandered over to the center of the platform, shooting my classmates a nervous glance, but they were all focused on their opponents in front of them.
I knew that I couldn't hold anything back if I was going against a potential lightning user, so when the official's hand dropped, I immediately activated an emblem.
Although, the emblem I had activated off the rip was a bit unusual, to say the least. While striker runes at the emblem level were rarely ever seen with the water element, it was basically unheard of to obtain an internal water rune. In fact, I'd never seen anything like it.
